Regestrone Tablet For Missing Periods
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I have pocd. My expected period date was on nov 1st and now its the 15th of nov. My doc advised me to take regestrone for 7 days twice daily to get my periods. After taking it twice yesterday and today in the afternoon I saw blood spots, so i thought i had gotten my periods back but it stopped and now I'm not bleeding anymore. What should i do? Should i continue taking regestrone or stop it? Please advise.

Hi. I am 33yrs old, weight 46kg, height 5'3 inches and from 25yrs onwards have been suffering from pcod. It is thought to be due to me being underweight but I used hormonal therapy for a few months and I had normal periods for a few months again with the same problem for a few years. After my marriage pcod was gone and I got regular periods for 1 year but now after one year I am suffering with the same pcod and irregular periods and my weight is still 46kgs. So my doctor prescribed me regestrone tablets to induce periods. Before them, I use to have my periods every month after using regestrone 5mg tablets (2 times daily for 5 days). Then I stopped for a few months and I got normal periods again for 4 months, but now I am not seeing my periods anymore. Please tell me if I can use this regestrone tablet again to induce periods?

Hello, Tinii! How are you?

Spotting can be a normal side effect of Regestrone, as listed by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness and headache. However, you should continue taking it, as directed by your doctor, unless they tell you to stop.

Is there anything else I can help with?
