I was taking rantac 150 twice a day and since they were not helping me with flatulence I have changed to Nexpro RD 40.

I also have a kidney problem with my creatinine at 1.9

Is it ok for me to take Nexpro?

Hello, Rama! How are you?

These medications can actually cause flatulence as a side effect, so they don't usually relieve it, according to the U.S. FDA. You may also experience nausea, headache and stomach pain.

These are used to reduce stomach acidity, to treat or prevent conditions such as GERD, heartburn, ulcers and gastritis.

For flatulence relief, you need something that breaks up the excess gas that such acids can form.

Did your doctor prescribe these for you?

I have been taking Nexpro 40 for the last 2 months and Evito, but still have mild upper abdomen pain. Now the doctor prescribed Normaxinn for the past month, and when I take Normaxinn there is no pain, but if I stop Normaxinn I feel pain on my upper abdomen.
