I have just been prescribed Lamasil by my podiatrist. When looking online to see the detailed side effects and drug interactions of Lamisil, Metotoprol was listed as an interacting medicine. How will Metotoprol interact with my taking Lamasil? It does not say what the interaction is, but since Metotoprol is a beta blocker, I am concerned before I start taking the Lamasil. I want to start taking the oral Lamasil to get rid of a pretty bad nail infection. Thank you.

According to FDA studies, Lamisil could increase the effect of Metoprolol, which may cause your blood pressure and heart rate to drop too low. It isn't that they usually can't be taken, together, but your doctor should be monitoring your closely, and may have to adjust your dosages accordingly. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, and headache.
