Updated

I have had high blood pressure for quite some time. I was diagnosed with an irregular heart beat also.I was taking lisinopral 20mg 2 times daily. The dr changed bp meds to metoprolor er 25mg.I got it refilled and recieved metoprolor tart 25mg. Is there a difference? Should I call the pharmacy can't reach the dr. Please give me some advice. I am taking metoprolol ER 100mg qd and when I got a refill it's now metoprol TAR 100mg qd.
In addition I also take Azor 10/40 mg 1 tab qd.
Is this alright ? , nothing was said of a change in the Rx , please advise and thank you!

There has been no change to your medication, it is exactly the same, the actual drug name is Metoprolol Tartrate, one prescription bottle simply listed an abbreviated name and the new one lists the full name.

This medication is a generic for Toprol or Toprol XL, it is used to various diseases of the cardiovascular system, most commonly high blood pressure.

Common side effects may include: nausea, coldness of the extremeties, headache and dizziness.

I was prescribed Metoprolol 25 mg When I went for refill, they gave me Metoprol TAR 25 mg. The inscription on the 1st one says 18 and the second 79. The First one says Mylan at the bottom of the bottle and Metoprol TAR says Ranbaxy PH. I have to take this tablet tonight but do not want to do so without advice. Thank you
