HI, Ama! How are you?

The expiration date is actually based on test results that show how long a medication remains fully effective once it has been exposed to the elements that can cause degradation, such as heat, light and moisture.

Thus, a medication that is still sealed in the original container from the manufacturer may not expire for several years, but once that container has been opened, the shelf life is greatly shortened.

So, it is absolutely necessary for the date on the bottle you receive from your pharmacy to be different from the manufacturers date on the original container.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Unless you kept them in the back yard in full sun light. Yes they should be fine.
