It is quickly absorbed by the body and metabolized by the liver within 4-10 minutes.

Excretion half life is between 3-4 hours, so it could take up to 8 hours to be completely out of your system.

I have been taking Nitroglycerin 2.5 capsules since 2002 after 2 stints were inserted. I have never had a problem since. I also take Toprol 100Mg. Question: Is there a substitute for Nitro 2.5 it isnt covered by medicare I pay 21.39 for 100 at Walgreens. Thank you
