My husband will not take his sleeping pill. He stays up all night. Should I crush it up and put it in his food

Hello, Bump! How are you?

If he is of normal sound mind then no, you can't do that. It would actually be considered illegal. I know you're worried about him, but if he just doesn't want to take it and prefers to deal with his insomnia, then that is his right.

If he isn't of sound mind and you are supposed to make sure that the takes it, then whether or not you can crush it and give it to him that way depends on which one he is supposed to be taking, since some of them are time released.

Which one has he been prescribed and what is the dosage?

Did you mean Ambien?

It is used for the short-term treatment of insomnia and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, lucid dreaming and next day hangover like effects.

If it isn't the Ambien CR, it can be crushed, but what I said on that still stands. You can't legally force him to take it, that would be considered drugging someone.

If he isn't of sound mind and you need to give it to him, then you can do so.
