Can Sodium Hyaluronate or Hyaluronic Acid be taken with Warfarin? ## Sorry, I am not finding any information on this. Have you tried asking your doctor or pharmacist? It is commonly used in many over the counter products, but some of them do react badly with prescription medications. People on Warfarin really have to be careful with what they take with it, to avoid many problems, such as severe bleeding. ## I have to take Alendronic Acid due to osteoporosis. Can I also take Hyaluronic Acid or would it be inadvisable as I have rather a sensitive stomach?

interaction of Alanerv with warfarin ## Has your doctor suggested that you use both? Alanerv is a nutritional supplement, which contains: α-lipoic acid 300 mg, polyunsaturated fatty acids (GLA, LA) 300 mg, vit E 7.5 mg, vit B5 4.5 mg, vit B6 1.5 mg, vit B2 1.2 mg, vit B1 1.05 mg, selenium methionine 25 mcg And, generally, the only thing that doctors have people avoid, when taking Warfarin is Vitamin K, though it depends on your INR, because there are some other vitamins that can also affect it. Thus, you should always check with your doctor or pharmacist, before taking anything.

Easy to live with warfarin once you get your INR settled..the alternative is not so attractive!! IThe best advice is to accept it and work with it, not against it, and hav a doctor you trust. I now have my bloods done monthly which is gr8 after all the weekly tests..not a big deal..I hav a St Jude INR testing machine at home, its just like a blood test machine my mum has for her diabetes, I can use it to monitor my INR but choose to go to the blood collection agency ..thats my choice..before my op I loved a few drinks, take away, and smokes etc.. but after mitral valve replacement am happy to be alive with warfarin as my only medication..get to live and see my children & grandchildren every day..how blessed. ## I have just had an aortic valve relacement can I take coxflam with warfa...

Is it safe to take Hydroco Apap 10-325 mg when taking Cumadin(Warfarin)? ## The Acetaminophen, that is coupled with the Hydrocodone, can increase the blood thinning properties of the Warfarin and thus, increase the risk of bleeding. Is the prescribing doctor aware that you are taking both? Sometimes, the dosage must be adjusted accordingly and you should know to watch for any signs of bleeding and report them to your doctor immediately.

I have been on Coumadin/Warfarin for about a year. there was a point where i was taken off of the medication and now I have recently began taking it again. With this round of medication I am feeling very out of sorts like my head is just not on right. Are there any alternatives? Drug was or even homeopathic to aid in blood thinning? I was prescribed because of DVT. Thanks much ## Have you spoken to your doctor about this, yet? There are some others that people sometimes use, but you will need to discuss them with your doctor to evaluate them in respect to your health problem. One that is very commonly used is Aspirin: Many people take a low-dose tablet of it daily for its blood thinning action. Another one on the market is Plavix, which contains the active ingredient Clopidogrel: In the...

I had my lymph nodes removed from left axilla 19 years ago, for breast cancer. I am now taking warfarin for Afib and high blood pressure, both now regulated by medication fairly well. I know you can't use a 24 hr.BP monitor while taking warfarin, I assume because of the pressure on the arm - what about wearing a compression sleeve when travelling by air? ## That is something you should really check with your doctor about and see if it is safe for you to do. The pressurized air in the cabin, coupled with the elevation tends to raise your blood pressure. This, along with the fact that you are on Warfarin can affect the safety and advisability of doing so. In some cases, it may depend on the length of the flight, as well. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for your re...

I currently take Warfarin for atrial fib but I am wary of it because I think my father died of a cerebral hemorrhage. Is Dabigatran a better choice? ## They are both anticoagulants, so one isn't necessarily safer than any other, they both can cause the same side effects and carry the same risks. There is really no way to tell, ahead of time, how safe any medication is going to be for anyone. If you feel more comfortable using one, rather than the other, then by all means discuss it with your doctor. Are there any questions or comments?

Is there a problem with taking the drugs together? ## The two drugs aforementioned are completely different. After gathering information on the active ingredients in each drug, there does not seem to be any sort of conflict with taking them consecutively. I am not an MD, so I would recommend asking a certified physician what is right for you. For more information on Warfarin, the synthetic Vitamin K inhibitor, please take a look at the link below...
