What is Valzaar tablet used to treat?

I'm prescribed the tablet Valzaar 160mg, but I cannot afford its price. Is there a cheaper alternative?

Valzaar contains the active ingredient Valsartan, it is most commonly used to help lower high blood pressure and to treat cardiac diseases.

Common side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain.

As to wether or not there is anything cheaper available, I am not certain,
