Tecta Stomach Meds
UpdatedThis is a dangerous drug!! If you take heart meds and prescribed this medication, RUN!! I gained 15 lbs in 3 months. I was retaining water. I was swollen from my toes up to my upper thighs. My feet and toes were so swollen that I could not bend my toes downward. My feet were so sore that it was a struggle to walk! My stomach was bloated as this med stops acid from forming in your stomach that can cause GERD etc. What happens is food sits in your stomach and eventually rots and expelled. I felt so hungry and noticed my nails and hair pretty much stopped growing as the food doesn't get digested and sent throughout the body. My entire body was sore as if I suffered from fibro. My fingers, hands, arms and face were swollen. This was not an allergy. I needed home care as I could barely walk and shuffled like an old lady. I went to the hospital as my legs swelled up so bad. The hospital thought I had a blood clot, thankfully I didn't! I read how bad it is to take this med while on heart meds. I took myself off this deadly medication and after being off it for two months I am finally feeling somewhat better.
The water retention has gone away. It took 4-5 weeks for it to go away. I lost most of the water weight. My feet still hurt. Walking is improving. This medication should not be used for more then 8 weeks. If you have been on this poison for a long time get a bone density done. I suffer from osteo from years on stomach meds to control severe GERD. I cut out all soda, coolers, gummies and acidic food. I have a sliding hernia and an operation was suggested. I am still thinking on whether I want such a major operation. I don't understand why doctors don't tell their patients how dangerous combination meds are. There is another stomach med that my gastro specialist said that he could put me on instead of tecta... side effect is it can cause MS symptoms!!! I said hell no!!! Please, if I can help one person. If you have any of the above symptoms or on heart meds don't use this. How often do we hear about meds that have been found to cause great injury to people?! This is one of them. Cut out foods and or drinks that cause you symptoms. Be warned!! If one doctor says what I am saying is not correct challenge him or her. Why is it that 4 weeks after I stopped this med my condition improved?! I have been on other meds over the years and as a whole my stomach pain was worsened.
