Hi everyone.... I was taking Suboxone strips (brand name) for a few years until my doctor recommended I switch to Subutex (Roxanne Labs)) because it was cheaper. I took my first dose on November 20,2012. Two weeks later, I began getting a itchy rash on my left shoulder blade. Then in early December , my right shoulder blade became itchy. After Christmas hives appeared all over my back. By New Years I was awaking in the morning with a red hot flush followed by hives which were now on my rear end and back of my knees. I couldn't just stop taking the Subutex and had no choice but to wait to see my doctor on Jan 2. January 2 I went back on Suboxone strips and thought the hives would stop. Wow was I wrong!!! Today is the 20th day I've been off the subutex. I began taking 10mg of Zyrt...

does subutex have a 3 on one side of it ## Hi Heather, Subutex pills do not have a 3 on them; or at least the white one's don't, as I haven't seen any other colors. The imprint on white subutex pills are: "B8" or "B2" on one side (depending on the dosage) and on the other side is a sword-like symbol. Does your pill have any other markings or imprints?

How long does the high feeling of an 8mg Subutex 54 411 last before you need another one? ## The high is actually a side effect and not something that's considered desirable, so there have been no tests done to see how long it may last. Additionally, whether or not you feel high isn't the proper determiner of when you should take this medication. Learn more Suboxone details here. This is a prescription medication that contains a very potent narcotic and it should only be taken as directed by your physician. Are there any other comments or questions?

Ready to stop taking loratabs ## Have you asked your doctor about using Subutex to get off the Lortab? Most pain management doctors should have a general understanding of what you need to safely get through the withdrawal phase of such medications. In the event that you can't get Subutex, I'd even consider cutting the Lortabs into smaller fractions so you can take a partial dose to help ween down and lessen your need for more addicting meds like Subutex. I only say that because I've been reading a number of posts stating how some people use Suboxone, Subutex, & Methadone to get off one med and they ironically end up getting addicted to those one's as a result of taking them for so long. My suggestion is to take your time tapering off, but your doctor would probably h...

If You Sniff The Small White 8 Mg Subutex Is It Stronger Then Letting Them Dissolve under your tounge? ## yes it is much stronger and only a miligram of the 8 miligram needs to be sniffed to achieve an effect! even if you have used heroin for years it will take away withdrawal symptoms! but be warned you must be in withdrawal from heroin or methadone for it to work and if you take when you still high on heroin or methadone then you will go into a nightmare withdrawal so be careful!! i would not recommend you snort these tablets but if you do be careful and look at harm reduction and like i said only sniff a small amount and dont go sniffing too much as the body builds a rapid tolerence and also you will have so much in your system from the last sniff or the day before and you will just ...

I was being prescribed Suboxone, and my doctor just switched me to Subutex. I smoke pot, and I have tried the whole dissolving a Suboxone piece in clean urine thing (which doesn’t work). Now if I have someone with clean urine take a Subutex, and collect their urine how long will it take for the Subutex to be metabolized in order to show up on the drug test? For example: Said person takes a Subutex around 7-8pm and my test is at 4 pm the next day; will the Subutex have had enough time to show up, or not enough time to show up?

I am currently prescribed Subutex. I was just switched to Subutex from Suboxone due to cost. Anyway, I smoke pot, and my doctor does random drug testing. I have been through the whole “dissolving pieces in clean urine routine (doesn’t work), and have found a new plan. I get someone with clean urine to take a Suboxone or now it will be a Subutex, and collect their urine in the morning for the test later that afternoon. Since these tests are random I am tired of wasting Subs, and warming urine up when she doesn’t test me. It is just a waist. My question is if this person takes a Sub for me the night before, I collect their urine, and freeze the left over urine; will the Sub still be able to be detected 4 weeks later in a drug test? H...

I've been on Suboxone since April 2012. Last week I found out I am pregnant, and am about four weeks along. I called my doctor who prescribes the Suboxone, and she has left me with a difficult ultimatem. She has prescribed subutex for a week, and then my treatment is up to me. I either need to go to methadone clinic (which is too far for me to drive daily, and id have to win the lotto to afford it) or risk a miscarriage by not taking anything. She will only help me for a week. I've contacted the Suboxone hotline, and women can take subutex or methadone while pregnant with less risk than Suboxone. Where can I look.for another doctor? I feel like no one will want to treat me since my doc is basically throwing me out. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas of where I can look.for.h...

I am currently going away next year to Lanzarote off the Canary Islands. I am on a regular script of 18 mg of Subutex per day. These have been prescribed by my psychiatrist. Will I need to take any proof from my doctor or psychiatrist or any doctor's letters to take with me, or can I just take them at my own will? ## I would suggest contacting a doctor or pharmacy there and asking them what you need to do. It is most likely that you can take a certain amount with you, but after that you will probably need a prescription from a doctor there to continue getting it. Learn more Subutex details here. Most locations have limits, such as your only being able to take 3 months worth of any prescription medication. Have you looked into the laws there yet?

I took about 2 mgs of Subutex on Thursday at 3pm..never had it before. I have my refill appt the following Tuesday at 1pm and I still have 10mgs of oxycodone I can take to test positive for that as I should. My question is; will I test positive for Subutex (in your experience) ? ## Well, they'd have to be using a test that specifically looks for it, which not all places use, because they are more expensive than the regular tests. However, if they do, then the Buprenorphine in Subutex is usually detectable for approximately 7 days. Learn more drug testing details here. The other issue that could create a problem is if they are checking your levels of the prescribed medication. There are tests they can use that would show them the levels of the Oxycodone in your body, to let them know...

I just got a all from my doctor saying I tested positive for opiates, I am prescribed subutext and haven't taken a opiate. I don't know how this happened, I am freaking out. ## What type of test was it? Subutex does contain Buprenorphine, which is an opiate and it is well know that if the test being used is one of the less expensive, non-certified ones, one opiate can cause false positives for others, so it also wouldn't be much of a surprise for it to just be detected as general opiates, either. Learn more drug test details here. Are they sending the sample to a lab for further testing?

I am currently on Suboxon and have been for over a year now. It is getting too expensive for me. My doctor told me she could put me on Subutex. Other than the opiate blocker, what is the difference? How different will it make me feel? Will I go through any withdrawls from Suboxone? Does Subutex still give you that "feel good feeling"? ## There really shouldn't be any other difference, as long as she gives you an equivalent dosage, because the main active ingredient is still the same, Buprenorphine. Learn more Buprenorphine details here. In most cases, people can do a clean and easy switch from one to the other. When will you be switching?

Somebody gave me some pills that were white oblong with 54 on one side and a tv on the other side. Does anyone know what it is? Please help. One person said a genetric form of subutex. I don't think so! ## Hmmm - I'm having trouble matching this one. Right now I'm thinking that it is either an over the counter pill, or it can also be something from outside the USA. Do you have any thoughts or new information as to what it is supposed to be? Any manufacturer name, or packaging, etc? Please let me know. I can continue my detective work LOL. ## its 8mg gen. sub hope that helps

Can subutex levels increase and stay longer in system during pregnancy and subutex levels increse on drug tests ## Hi Jennifer, Subutex (sublingual buprenorphine) is a pregnancy Category C drug, meaning it may not be safe for use during pregnancy. That said, I too, wonder what types of effects this has on the body and the fetus in general. To find out though if the levels of this drug are fluctuating during pregnancy, one would have to get tested at your doctor's office, since there doesn't appear to be any specific details available online regarding this sort of thing. On a side note: if you're taking this pill with food (fatty foods in particular), I think it may impact the rate at which the drug is absorbed - but that is just my theory since fat slows down metabolism. I h...

I need to know if ANYONE has any information regarding KY state regulations of the detoxing and administration of Subutex with pregnant women. Can an MD pull the prescription without warning from a pregnant woman? what are the side effects of withdrawal from this with mother/child in last trimester? ## If the woman is not in immediate, life threatening danger, then no doctor is required to treat her, or prescribe any medication, even if she is pregnant. A doctor has the right to discontinue treating a patient, or prescribing any medications, at any time they deem appropriate. The same as the right as patient has to decide they no longer want to see that doctor, or stop taking any given prescribed medication. The only time treatment is obligated from a medical profession would be if her ...

I have the relatively new generic for subutex. It's round and white with the numbers 54 411 on one side and blank on the other. I was wondering if u ingest this sublingual like the original or if u swallow it. Please let me know. ## This is an 8mg Buprenorphine tablet, the active ingredient in Subutex and yes, it is meant to be used sublingually. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## I took only a quarter of the generic subutex. about 43 hours ago and now i need to take a vicodon. dose any one know if its ok to do that. Cuz i heard if you take it to soon you can get withdrawl symptons or you have to take more than usual because of the opiet recepters.?????????? ## It should be fine, but you may nite get the full effect of the vicodin due to the high affinity to the receptor...

I've bought some cold medicine and didn't notice there is a small amount of pholcodine in it. Will I have any bad side effects if I take this with the subutex I am prescribed? ## Pholcodine as an opioid that's used to suppress cough and it also has a mild sedative like effect, so it may not be advisable to use them together. Learn more Pholcodine details here. Learn more Subutex details here. A lot of it can really depend on how sensitive you are to these types of effects, so you may want to discuss it with your doctor and see what their opinion is on it. I sniffed heroin for 2 yrs. just did a 5 day Inpatient detox with subutex.....one terrible nite then fine....on nothing now. 15days clean and now a bad cold--exhausted--post acute withdrawal or just caught something? Heard if I take a 1/4 strip suboxone I'll b feelin better. Or should I just get antibiotics or both? really not interested using or taking the suboxone regularly. Thx ## If you don't have an infection, then I would steer clear from taking any antibiotics, as they can take a toll on your body and make future infections more difficult to fight off. Because you're not sure if what you are dealing with is a cold or simply post acute withdrawal symptoms, it may be a good idea to treat it naturally by just eating a lot more fruits and vegetables and drinking plenty of...
