Hai, Am 48 years. For the past three months my periods are irregular. Also, it starts as a spotting, bleeds and does not stop completely. I was advised to take Regestrone tablets thrice a day for one week, twice a day for two weeks. The bleeding has stopped completely. Now am advised for a scan to check the uterus lining. Am worried. It is normal to experience such issues, when you are in perimenopause, according to the NIH. You may also experience more severe cramping, headaches, and other PMS-like symptoms.

It is basically just your body experiencing changing hormone levels to get ready for full menopause. There is no harm in having the scan done, to be sure, but there is nothing unusual about your symptoms.

When will you have the scan?
