On Tuesday night I was in a lot of pain and unable to sleep. I took too much of my oramorph. I was really disoriented and vomited. I slept all day yesterday and last night. Today I still feel really sleepy. My family will be angry with me if they knew. I'm bit in any danger am I? ## Oh dear last night I had same problem I suffer from piriformis and couldn't sleep , so rather than measuring out the morphine I took mouthful from the bottle, I've been sick can find no energy and slept all day so far ..i have sought medical advice I'm just about ok ..made me think twice about what I take I've ditched the morphine and feeling rather stupid ## Life threatening danger would have occurred with the first few hours after taking too much, but you should still inform your doctor...

Can i take Oramorph that has been open for more than 3 months, but is still within its expiration date? I got it for my knee pains about a year ago and it just flared up again, but i don't have time to go back to the hospital as i have exams. ## I'd like to know the same as you about the date. Ours is a year or more old and opened. I'd like to know if there would be problems taking it. Does the efficiently degrade or even make the mixture stronger. Thanks. ## Given that this is a liquid formulation, it is advisable that you not take it past the expiration. Liquid medication don't last as long as solid forms, and they may actually go rancid, and could make you ill, if you take them. However, if it is within the expiration, it should still be fine to use. The FDA warns tha...

Has anyone else noticed the taste change in Oramorph Oral 10mg/5ml? ## Yes, it tastes less sweet and stronger, it reminds me of alcohol (which I no longer drink, due to morphine) I am so scared I may accidentally take an overdose. I used to self harm and take various overdoses when younger, whilst drinking alcohol. Now I don't want to die, and panic I have taken too much. I now take 30mg MST every 12 hours and 30-40ml of Oramorph every 4 hours, when required. Sorry off topic a bit there, the flavour seems to linger in the mouth much longer too, unless you have some water or juice after to clear it. ## There are at least two flavours of oramorph, I've been using this product approx 5 years since I broke my back, my chemist switch between the two flavours on a regular basis, it is...

white round pill one side has 30 the other side has 54 and then below that 409 ## Based on the description provided, I found your pill to be Oramorph SR (30 mg); which is a generic for Morphine that is used to relieve severe or agonizing pain and suffering. For information about Oramorph, please refer to the link below... If you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you. ## How is this generic compared to the m 30 or abg 30s? ## How this compare to the mallinckrodt or Rhodes

I take oramorph daily, I have a half used bottle of oramorph that has been open for over a year. It's still well within the use by date but the bottle says discard 3 months after opening. It seems a waste to throw it away, will this be OK to use? It's not dangerous is it? ## I'd like to know the same as you about the date. Ours is a year or more old and opened. I'd like to know if there would be problems taking it. Does the efficiently degrade or even make the mixture stronger. Thanks. ## If the meds were kept in the bottle, in a climate controlled house, then you're good to go. I have left pills in my glove box in the summertime and they got weaker and weaker because of the heat. As hard as it is the get pain meds these days, I would hang on to those, they will work...

I've been taking Oramorph for several weeks now with no problem, now all of a sudden, I've been feeling very nauseous. I haven't changed the dosage since I was advised to well over two weeks ago. I'm perplexed as to why it's happening all of a sudden. There have been no other changes in my life and I have a contraceptive implant so I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant. Any ideas? ## Hello, Charlotte! How are you? I am sorry about the nausea you're experiencing. It can sometimes take a few weeks for all side effects to manifest, after starting a medication. As listed by the U.S. FDA, you may also experience dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. The medication also carries the risk of being habit forming. Have you tried making sure not to take it on ...

on oramorph 10mg 4 times a day and tramadol 100mg 4 times a day still in pain are they cancelling each other out ## No, I was othe same recently and they will be augmenting each other not cancelli out. If you are still in pain, speak to your doctor about upping your morphine (you've already maxed the tramadol there) I'm on 30mg plus 100mg tramadol which is controlling my pain much better. ## How long have you been taking them? As George said, they shouldn't be canceling each other out, but it may be time for a dosage adjustment. There's also the possibility that one, or both just aren't the right medications to help you and you may need to try different ones. There is also an extended release Tramadol that is available in 200 and 300mg doses. ## If a may suggest perh...

I am on palexia/ tapentadol 500mg sr and 100mg ir as well as up to 50 mg of oramorph . I eventually get some pain relief after taken the total dose of oramorph which is 10mg every two hours. Instead of having to wait the 8-10 hours for the oramorph to kick in could i safely double or treble the dose of oramorph at the beginning of the evening when i take my first dose ## Hello, Geo! How are you? I'd not suggest changing your dosage, unless your doctor approves. These narcotics can cause depression of the central nervous system, which may result in lowered heart rate and blood pressure, so too high of a dose could put you in danger. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth an...

My husband is in constant severe pain due to needing a new knee but he cant have one as he has too many other complications health wise. He's been prescribed oramorph but it's not doing anything, just making him feel sick and have stomach pains. ## It should start working withing a few minutes of taking it, it is an extended release form of Morphine. The NIH warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is he on any other medications? What other health issues does he have?

Hi, I'm in hospital at the moment and have been taken off morphine and I'm now on oramorph but it doesn't seem to be shifting the pains in my stomach I have said to the nurse but she is not for giving me it what could be the reason for this ## This medication also contains Morphine, so it should work just like the Morphine does. What dosage are they giving you? The NIH warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

biege tablet sp 782 ## The Oramorph with 782 on it has a number 53, not SP! The company that uses the SP logo does not list that they make any morphine tablets, they do many OTC products thought and there is no comprehensive listing of all of them. ## Another typo, I am doing great this morning, can tell I didn't sleep well. That should be a number 54, not 53, sorry. ## Im a methadone user (85mls) is 30ml of oramorph to much or not enough?

have been on MS ER for long time and it was always pinkish-pale red in color. I'm on 30mg BID. But this refill at same pharmacy was blue/greyish round pill with E653 one side, and just 30 on other side. Is this the same med just diff. company? ## Yes, this tablet is manufactured by Endo Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 30mgs of Morphine in an extended release formulation, so it is a generic for Oramorph SR. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a strange response to Oramorph - I take 10ml for persistent hip pain two or three times a week. It takes about 2 hrs to kick in and lasts about 10-12 hrs. It is not slow-release. Sometimes I wonder if I'm imagining this or maybe it just relaxes me so the pain feels less. I would like to know if anyone (especially women as I've heard these drugs aren't evaluated on women), has had a similar experience? My doctor says it's impossible! Thanks. ## The length of time that any given medication works may vary from person to person, a lot of it depends on your own body chemistry and metabolism. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. And yes, th...

I took morphine sulphate 6 hours ago and am still in pain. I have oramorph as well. Can I still take it? ## Hello, Caz! How are you? What instructions have been provided with the medications? There are actually both forms of Morphine, so you could end up overdosing, if you take another one, too soon. The U.S. FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.

Just want to know incase the nhs decides I have to pay for it in the future ## Hello, Kj! How are you? I'm sorry, but this site doesn't prescribe nor sell any medication or products, so I don't have a price to quote for you. Have you tried asking your local pharmacist/chemist? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## I am looking for some ORAMORPH Solution as I have a fused leg with metal pin in then I have 7 Over granulation ulcers and I feel like screeming with pain. How much of these are considered a lethal dose? Oramorph 10mg, Pregablin 600mg, and Lorazepam 3mg ## I'm sorry, but I actually can't provide you with this type of information, for two reasons. The first, of course, is criminal liability and the second is due to the fact that there is no hard and fast answer to the question. Medications affect everyone differently and what might overdose one person could be just a standard therapeutic dose for someone else. Rather than ending your life, you should really get help for whatever problems or mental condition(s) is making you feel this way, because suicide is never a valid solution to anything. Have consulted a doctor or counselor? ## I don't know the reason for you wanting to take your life but you are a child of God and there...

I have severe neuropathic pain but Oramorph doesn't seem to help at all, it just gives me the runs. Is this normal? I thought this stuff would help. ## Not every medication available works for every person that tries it, that's usually why there are several different options, sometimes even hundreds, in any given therapeutic category. Learn more pain management details here. What other medications have you tried? For nerve pain, many people have had good luck with the anticonvulsant medications, such as Gabapentin. Learn more Gabapentin details here. What im worried about is ive taken oramorph for 6 years and now he is changing me. Im worried that the oxicodone wont be as strong as the 60mg of oramorph I take twice a day. my father has been prescribed oramorph as and when required he has severe heart failure and a large build up of calcium around his altua valve he coughs continually and causes pain if he took this every time he coughed. Could this be an overdose and kill him? ## Hello, Trevor! How are you? I am very sorry about your father's condition. However, it has been found that when patients have such severe conditions, providing them with such medications in higher doses, or dosed more frequently doesn't hasten death. Now, if he were to take a dose every single time he coughed, if he was coughing rapid fire, then it could still be too much. In most cases, unless a couple hours have passed, if he just waits a few moments after coughing, things will settle back down and the pain will taper ...
