I was prescribed nystatin vaginal tablets for a resistant vaginal yeast infection but the pharmacy said it is discontinued. I was given oral tablets instead, will these be effective for vaginal yeast treatment?

Hi, Mary! How are you?

Yes, they should work, but it may take a little bit longer than the vaginal tablets would, since it does have to be processed through your body to do its work, rather than be directly absorbed into the vaginal mucosa.

Learn more Nystatin details here.

The side effects may also be different, because the oral ones may cause some nausea and dizziness.

Is there anything else I can help with?
