Based on my research, Nystatin is an antibiotic medication that prevents fungus from growing on your skin and Triamcinolone is a steroid that reduces the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation, redness, and swelling.

The combination of nystatin and triamcinolone topical (for the skin) is used to treat skin infections caused by fungus or yeast.

Is the itching being caused by a fungal infection? Are you sure you aren't dealing with an allergy of some sort?

This medication should not be used for ringworm because the Triamcinolone could possibly make it easier for any fungus to grow and allow it to spread more deeply into the skin.

In regards to Mupirocin (aka - Bactroban), it is an anti-biotic cream - therefore, it wouldn't be able alleviate ring-worm (Tinea Corporis).
