I took minastrin 24 fe for only 3 days because I was having heavy periods and my doctor told me these pills will help to stop the heavy bleeding. I took the pills on 8/5/16 but only then it completely stopped. Now this month September I'm one week late on my period. Does anyone know if this is normal? I'm not sure if I could be pregnant.

Hello, Fatima! How are you? Have you had your period, yet?

Taking hormonal medications, even if for a short period of time, can throw your normal cycle off and cause you to be late, as reported by NIH. As reported by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, headache, irritability, spotting and PMS like symptoms.

If your period doesn't occur within 7 to 10 days, you should have yourself checked for possible pregnancy.

Hello, I took one pill of Minastrin the first day of my period for the first time ever. I suspended it immediately because of intense nausea associated with it. I did not vomit. Now my period is 8 days late. I have done home urine pregnancy tests, and they have been negative. Should I be concerned of ectopic pregnancy or is it normal for one pill to throw off my cycle?
