I have been prescribed Minivelle 0.05mg/24 hr transdermal patches along with Prometrium 100 mg. Has anyone else taken this combination and found relief from other menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, trouble sleeping, outbursts of tears or rage? Also, will it cause weight gain or loss? I recently visited my OB/GYN with concerns about adverse reactions due to stopping Loestrin24. My husband and I are trying to conceive, and to remedy my intense headaches, severe cramping, and heavy menstuation my doctor gave me a 3-week sample of Minivelle. Everything I have read states this drug is used during menopause. Why, then, has my doctor chose this for me at 25 while trying to conceive? ## Even the manufacturer's webpage directly states that Minivelle (estradiol transdermal system) is a prescription medicine patch that contains estradiol (an estrogen hormone), used to treat moderate to severe hot flashes due to menopause.
