I just wanted you all to know that I am the one prescribed medrol dose pack 4 mg for the cough and fluid in lungs that would not clear up. Everyone told me that by day 4 of being off of that 1 dose pack ( that I did not complete) I would be back to normal and it should all be out of my system. They were wrong. It is now 10 days after I took the last pill I was willing to take of that pack. I feel the most normal today that I have so far. It has been a really rough almost 2 weeks, but I made it through. Hope this helps some of you. No one could give me a timeframe for the meds getting out of my system. It has taken at least the 10 days for me. hi, i've been taking medrol (methylprednisolone) first IV for 2 weeks with doses from 40 to 20.. then 1 week - doses from 16 to 4 ... i know that the total half life is 3 days after the last pill, but how much it takes for corticosteroids to clear totally out of your body? i've heard something about weeks? but how many? i'm 26 year old girl .. if that matters.

Upon starting medrol I started to lose muscle. I lost 15 lbs of muscle in 2 months 3 years ago when I first started taking it. When I started taking my thyroid med it slightly countered the effects of the medrol. I understand that steroids like medrol will make you lose muscle, bones, and tendons, but not at this rate. I mean I've heard of people being on medrol for decades and they're still alive and well. The muscle loss is so severe that at times it seems like it's a weekly thing of losing inches on my waist line and my legs shrinking. Has anyone here experienced severe muscle loss by taking 4 mg of medrol? I mean like losing muscle over night within like 3 days at a time sometimes? ## How do you know it's muscle loss? Took my last pill from 6 day pack. Question I have is I have had perfect blood pressure until I started this medicine. Now my blood pressure is very high and my heart rate is elevated also. Which this is not normal for me. How long after you finish with this medication will the blood pressure go back to normal and the headache will go away? Thr medicine took care of the inflammation in my knee my all of the side effects I had. I will never take it again. ## Hello, Tammy! How are you? I can take a week or so for the side effects to taper off, however, how high is your blood pressure? If it is dangerously high, then you may need medical treatment in the meantime to keep yourself out of danger.

I was just prescribed methylprednisolone 4mg for ringing in the ears. After reading so many negative reviews I'm afraid to take it. Is there something else I could take with fewer side effects? ## Hello, Mar! How are you? This actually is the steroid that's known to cause less side effects and problems than the others. And you also need to remember that the negative reviews are only left by a very small number of people that have actually taken it. The larger percentage take it without a problem and thus, have no reason to be hunting up a website like this to look for more information on it. I took it myself last year for a cyst and the worst effect I had was a slight blood pressure and heart rate elevation for a few days. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was prescribed 1 , 4 mg med pack for cough and fluid in lungs that wouldn't clear up with antibiotics alone. This all started with strep and pneumonia. I have a history of panic attacks and depression, but it has been years. After the first 3 pills it was time for bed. Awoke after 2 hours and remained awake for 24 hours, 4 panic attacks in that time. Called doc. She said take a day of off of pack to rest, then continue. Major panic attacks, racing thoughts, anger, fear. I only took 2 of the 4 pills for yesterday. Will not take anymore. How long before these crazy feelings go away. I have 101 fever. I have allergy problems but sounds like it is more than allergy.
