Methimazole side effects

I have taken Methimazole 10mg 4 tablets a day. I started it in March and at the end of April I looked as if I had the chicken pox. It was a terrible reaction that was possible sulfate poisoning? ## From what I have gathered a rare allergic reaction to taking this medication is difficulty breathing, rash that may cause itching, swelling, and dizziness. Consult your physician right away. More details: Medline Plus

Methimazole or Propylthiouracil for hyperthyroidism

Which pill is better for hyperthyroidism, methimazole or propylthiouracil? One is a 10mg and the other is 50mg, so which one is the best to take? ## Which medication has your doctor recommended for you? It really depends on what type of thyroid condition is being treated. The FDA lists typical side effects of them both as possibly including nausea, dizziness, weight changes, hair loss, and mood changes. Are you on any other medications?

Medication advice

Taking 50mg of Methimazole daily for past 3 months. It seems like my symptoms are getting worse with anxiety, depression, and lack of sleep. (Hyperthyroidism) Can it be caused by Methimazole? Should I stop or continue taking it? Has anyone tried ThyroSoothe remedy? If so, can you please give me your honest opinions. Thinking of stopping Methimazole and trying ThyroSoothe. Any helpful advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks ## Hello, Cindy! How are you? Those symptoms are all listed under the possible side effects by the FDA, along with changes in taste, dizziness, headache and joint pain. When was the last time your levels were checked? Has anyone else taken this medication?
