Lisinopril And Joint/tendon Pain!!! (Top voted first)

Updated

I started taking 5mg of Lisinopril about 2 years ago. Within a month or less I started having unexplained shoulder pain. Then they raised my dosage to 10mg per day. My joint and tendon pain keeps spreading. It's worst in my knees, but it moves around. I get it in my hands, elbows, hips, ankles, feet and even my neck. It feels like mostly tendon pain and tightness. It's like tendonitis without the swelling, redness and pain to touch. I'm gonna go off the Lisinopril tomorrow to see if it helps. If so I'm curious if anyone has had these issues with Lisinopril and how long they lasted once they were off the medication.

That can be a side effect of this medication, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination.

However, stopping it abruptly could place your health in danger, because it may cause elevated heart rate and elevated blood pressure.

The safest thing to do would be to see your doctor about a proper way to taper off of it, and/or switch to a different medication.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Well I've been off of the lisinopril for about 9 days now. Things seem to be improving to an extent with my tendon pain and tightness, but it hasn't completely gone away. I'm wondering how long it will take to go away and if my tendons will heal.
