Levothyroxin Tab 50mcg
UpdatedI am so confused and need help quick pretty please! My doctor wants me to take the medication to LOWER my thyroid, but in the medication description and side effects it says to take this is the thyroid is too low to get it higher so I just don't get it? The pharmacist asked me if my thyroid was too low and I said no, it is normal but too high to become pregnant safe and sound, then she said that I have the wrong medication if that is the problem and that too much can make me hyperthyroid.
I'm soon to be 40 years old and as I said I am trying to get pregnant. Have been trying for some time(long story) and my fertility doc said my thyroid test came back as 3.81 and said that it is tecnically normal, BUT since I am trying to get pregnant they said it should not be more then 2.5
So, they want me to take Levothyroxin Tab 50mcg, and I got the tabs the day before yesterday and was reading that it can effect the heart in fast or irregular heart beats and I have svt which is allready irregular heart beats. I don't take any medications for my heart, I deal to live with it. I got so worried though and I talked with my fertility doc and my heart doc and my heart doc said that he can't go ahead and say that it is OK for me to take the medication, since my test result came back normal, and they fear that I can get hyperthyroid from this. My fertility doc thinks that I should take it since I risk of getting miscarage easy if I get pregnant and also that I can easier get pregnant if I take the medication.
I have seen the side effects on this medication and they scare me a lot. I don't know what to do now because no dictor wants to "tell me what to do" and says it is up to me??? I mean ofcourse it is up to me, but I am not a doctor. Can anyone help me with this please?
