After a year treating of treating a bladder infection using 5 antibiotics and finally sent to infectious disease. I had a PICC line put in and received 28 days of 1Gm of Invanz in an outpatient infusion center. Like an idiot never thought to ask if Medicare would cover it. The side effects were awful. It really exacerbated my fibromyalgia. Extreme fatigue, nausea, roaring in my head. I've been off it for four days. How long before it's out of my system? The bacteria was a very resistant E.coli.

How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem you're having. This medication is manufactured by Merck and they do have an assistance program for it to help those who are uninsured. You can call them to see if you're eligible at 866-840-5400. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, administration site reaction, headache, dizziness and flushing. Is there anything else I can help with?

it is a iv fluid ## This is not an IV drug. It is misspelled. The CORRECT spelling of the drug is Invanz ## Invanz is an antibiotic effective against gram negative bacteria and YES, it is available as an IV medication. You can read more on it here: Are there any questions?
