Interstitial Cystitis+ Increasing Episodes Of Acute Urinary Retention

What medication works most effectively and rapidly to stimulate urination during an episode of acute urinary retention due to IC? Also, what works best for that associated pain that will not cause even more retention? (ie anti-cholinergic)
