I have a white oval-shaped tablet. One side has an imprint of "IMO" and the other side is scored in the middle. Is it a pain pill? ## Hi Janiece, I located a white oval pill that has IMO on one side and scored on the back with the numbers 2 | 125 on each side of the scoreline. I realize your description doesn't have numbers, but part of me suspects whether this might be related based on the striking resemblance I'm seeing. If it's of any help, the pill I'm describing is reportedly identified as Imodium advanced (Loperamide 2 mg / Simethicone 125 mg); used for treating diarrhea. For verification, the manufacturer/distributor is listed as McNeil Consumer Healthcare and the pill itself carries a National Drug Code of 00045-0202. Does anyone else have thoughts to add?

Is the azithromicina 500 effective for severe diarrhea? What is the dosage? I have had severe diarrhea for 3 days. Pepto bosom and Imodium slow it down but it comes back . ## Hello, Jack! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having. The FDA classifies this medication as an antibiotic, so it is only effective at treating or preventing bacterial infections, which also means that it can actually cause diarrhea as a side effect, along with nausea, dizziness, and headache. Thus, it might be best to have this checked out by your doctor, because if this is due to something viral, then an antibiotic will not help and could just end up making the diarrhea worse. got tummy bug and wondered if I could take the tablets I bought in egypt streptoquin and diax (havent got any imodium) ## Streptoquin contains 200mgs of Hydroxyquinoline, 2.5mgs of Novatropine, 200mgs of Sulphathiazole and 100mgs of Stremptomycin. This is an anti-infective/antibiotic, so it will only work if your problem is caused by an infection, not a virus or other illness. Have you seen a doctor? It is not wise to use an antibiotic unless it is necessary, due to the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. many years ago I used a med that was like a caramel shaped square that was dark chocolate in color and it was chewable. I am looking to find out what it was and what was in it as it is the only med I have ever taken that controlled my diarrhea. I no the doctor told me it was no longer available back in 88 but am wondering if they have something similar to it now. ## Hi Maple, I did a bit of research online using the description you provided and found that certain brands (such as Imodium) do still make chewable Anti-diarrheal tablets known as Ez Chews. Apparently they're only available in "Cool Mint" flavor... however, this is the closest match I've been able to find. If there's anyone else who would be likely to know more details about the recent history of these typ...

I NEED SOMETHING FOR ACID BUILD UP IN THE STOMACH ## Hi LELE, Based on my research, there are no drug interactions found between Imodium and Famotiodine so you should be ok to combine them. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate. If I were to suggest anything that may be of help to you, it would be to to clean out and detox your system. Acidity can be caused by a number of issues, but is commonly related to diet and stress levels. I would focus your attention on eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, staying hydrated, exercising at least an hour a day to get your lymphatic system flowing, along with getting plenty of rest each night. Also for the acidity problem, make...

My wife has been taking Imodium (6) but has exhausted her supply. Is it safe for her to continue her attempt to stop the direah with the Diphen Atrop 2.5mg? ## Has she consulted a doctor? Anytime that diarrhea is continuous like this, someone should seek medical attention, because it could be the sign of serious health problems. It also creates the very serious risk of dehydration. The problem with this medication is that its only meant to treat acute diarrhea, which would be that of a limited duration. If it's chronic, which means ongoing, then she needs to see a doctor for assistance and a proper diagnosis as to what's causing it.
