My daughters are three months old and have fever and diarrhea and the doctor have prescribed ilvitrim for them. I don't know if it will help them. They have a high fever and I've given the medicine to them but I see no changes. When can I see any change?

Ilvitrim is classified by the FDA as an antibiotic, so it used to treat or prevent bacterial infections. If the doctor prescribed it for you child, it is best to give it to them as instructed.

The typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

Is there anything else I can help with?

What is ilvitrim suspension? My 36-week-old baby at the hospital was given Zidovu. I took her to the clinic and they stopped that medicine. They then gave her ilvitrim. I'm waiting on the clinic for the results of her bloodwork.
