What Pharmacy Carries Greenstone Xanax (Page 3)

My longtime pharmacy stopped carrying the Greenstone generic of Xanax. How could I find another local pharmacy that does carry them?

You can call the pharmacies and ask who the manufacturer is of the medication your ina quoting about. Only need written rx if inquiring about a price. I do it for my husband often.

You don't need a written prescription to ask about a drug price, as they will give you the U & C price? Heck Greenstone does all the work for you!

Unfortunately here at CVS in RI they will not give you a quote without a prescription. They claim they have to put it in the system first. Apparently it varies from State to State and Pharmacy to Pharmacy. I thought when you got older life was easier.

By the way, my issue looking for a substitute for Mylan 1 mg. Alprazolam was successful. Actavis is comparable and now I feel happy and normal again. Greenstone was too strong for me. I did go to a Mom & Pop Pharmacy and paid out of pocket. Worth every penny.??

A quote with your Insurance, well no they don't have the time to put test claims in? However, you can always receive a quote, similar to how GoodRx or SingleCare does it. Glad to know you are enjoying your Activas/Teva, I got a bottle of those Wednesday, hadn't seen them for some time. I used to get very excited with this medicine, and then it almost killed me 10 years ago. Have a very different outlook on this stuff now

I need to find a Pharmacy that has the Greenstone Alprazolam 1mg G3721 in stock. Seems to be the only one that work's for me... -_-

You can call around but they may not tell you. You could try contacting the manufacturer and telling them you need to find a retailer in your area. They should be able to tell you who they distribute to.

They used to have a Greenstone Pharmacy Locator, But what you could do is see if your pharmacist can special order medications from Mckesson. Mckesson is most of the main-chain pharmacies distributor, and even though everyone thinks "Mom-and-Pop" pharmacies are better, I've personally dealt with one that specificially COULDN'T order from McKesson, which lead to me switching to CVS.

Also, it helps if you actually have your Doctor write, (or as of 1/1/22 E-Prescribe it as "Greenstone Authorized Generic Only*, that way the pharmacy will have no choice but to get you the Greenstone ones.

CVS can also "Special-Order" your medication if its available from Mckesson, and it come in the next day if ordered monday through Friday. Friday orders come Monday.

Your Doctor has no authority to specify your preferred generic brand, none. While the resources of McKesson are vast, I doubt very seriously CVS can special order the brand you prefer, don't believe it for the pennies they make on each fill?

This is NOT true. I actually was told BY A CVS PHARMACIST, to have my doctor include “‘blank’ manufacturer only” on my prescription, and that way they would have to order that brand. It just depends on finding the right CVS, but u DEFINITELY CAN have certain meds special-ordered from SOME CVS’. Speaking from personal experience myself.

Look up the pill identification via its color, shape and markings, and it will tell you exactly what manufacturer this is. Then you can call the pharmacy and ask for that manufacturer. When you call and ask the way you have been you look like a drug seeker and they purposefully aren’t answering you correctly. Hope this helps. They’re are MANY free pill identifier websites that will tell you in seconds what you’re looking for.

Greenstone is what I am on here looking for also. It isn’t the cheapest so a lot are phasing it out for cheaper ones that ARE PURE CRAP.

My doc must not know he doesn’t have the authority, he does it every time I ask him and I end up with exactly what I want……all doctors have that authority. Doesn’t mean the pharmacy will have or be able to order what you want.

Greenstone is the only generic Alprazolam that work as good as the brand name Xanax, because.....They are made by Phizer who makes brand name Xanax same medication except it has a "G" and a few numbers behind it, and in the last 2 months the price went from $93 to $230 for 150 tablets, a month's supply!
How do they expect people on a fixed income to afford that!!!!!

I get 270 at a time. If you are of the mindset that only one brand works , well spend the $250. I pay $25 (about $10 with insurance for a 3 month supply), and all brands seem to work. Greenstone is a good brand, I like all their products. There is no special formula, this is a Psych drug. Don't drive your Doctor nuts with your preferences, you can ask your pharmacy if they can simply order it for you
