How Long Does Methadone Show Up In A Oral Swab Drug Test (Page 3) (Top voted first)

I will be going for a job interview at some point next week, more than likely it will be early in the week ( in about 3 days) today i took 4 10mg methadone pills. It will be a saliva test that i have to take, how long will the drug be detectable in a saliva test?

I took a single 10mg tab of methadone two days ago. Prior to that I have not taken any other drug in years. I am naturally thin(hardly any body fat), am very active(daily workouts involving lots of sweat) and am religious about hydration. I eat healthy. I suspect I will be given an oral swab any day. If I increase my activity level as well as water consumption what would be a safe guess on how long it could be detected. I know there is no exact science on this topic but could I test clean within another 2 days? I mistakenly trusted a "friend" who told me I was taking an OTC tablet for a headache and am very disappointed that this mistake might cost me severely with my probation officer, not to mention my sobriety date. Please, any advice is welcomed

Hi Serenity,

Methadone can be detected in your saliva for up to 1-10 business days. Just joking about the 'business' days part. LOL!

Although in 3 days time, it's still questionable as to whether or not the drug will be detected; but if you have a prescription for Methadone, then you should be fine just presenting the script to whom ever is testing your saliva, so you're not held accountable for a positive result.

Yes Julie I'm sorry but it will show as it is a synthetic opiate it shows up as methadone itself. A friend took 2 -10mg methadone and ten days later still showed positive. Although some blogs or posts will say things such as 5-7 days it can actually be detected for a much much longer period. My friend learned this lesson the hard way and seriously regrets it. i work in a LABORATORY and we definitely test for methadone routinely. and yes, it comes up separate from opiates or any of the other drug classes.

If I take 10 milligrams of liquid methadone on Friday will I pass a mouth swab the following Wednesday please it's very important if someone could really help ME out thanx

Hi Robin, I have a similar case as u did. My question 2 u is, did your case worker know about your methadone usage before the drug screening? Did you notify your screener before the test? Did u do urine or swap? What state was this in? Acs started asking me to do drug test but I havent because of my methadone. Everythings been good except that. And I dont want To tell them about my methadone. I dont want new excuses. Please respond. Thank you
