## mussle relaxer ## my wife's back and the bottom of her right arm hurts. Does she have a pinched nerve, or a pulled muscle? What should I do? ## In regards to the original post, this was just a misunderstanding of the name Flexeril, which is the brand for the muscle relaxant Cyclobenzaprine. And Albert, what did your wife find out was wrong? To be honest, it would be remiss of anyone online to even attempt to make a diagnosis from the limited information in your post. That is something best done by a medical professional that can conduct a proper exam. There are more Flexeril details available here for anyone needing more information.

Is this drug a narcotic and is it addictive. ## not positive, i believe it is a form of flexeril a non narcotic muscle relaxer ## The main active ingredient is cyclobenziprine(actual prescription from the doctor that is FDA approved)brand name flexiril.. i believewas the form you're talking about generally is from Mexico which they do not follow the same strict guidelines as the FDA. Always be careful with drugs from uncertain sources. Anyway it is non narcotic muscle relaxer usually administered for long term muscle pain relief as it is pretty mild. I've been on it for years and can stop taking it whenever and only notice the pain gets worse. No withdrawals..so id say no its not addictive and a pretty safe drug to relieve your pain..

Im not taking anything right now, however i am waiting to be seen by a new dr.i suffer from fibromyalgia i want to take one flexeril and i am being tested for benzos and thc, alcohol, opiates, cocaine ,and meth. I will test again in around 48 hours will this be a positive test for benzos? ## Hi jess, Flexeril (Cyclobenzaprine) is known to cause false positives for Tricyclic Antidepressants (TCA). I'm not aware of any other findings outside of this one, but I'd be interested in knowing how the drug test turned out for you? Also, most places don't even test for muscle relaxants, so I would think that you should be fine from the start. I hope this helps!

what does 3 times a day mean? on a prescription bottle ## It means that you can take it a maximum of 3 times a day, 8 hours apart, if you need if that much. This is a muscle relaxant, so it isn't like an antibiotic where you have to make sure you take it that many times a day, you can take it less if you don't need it, but you should make sure you don't exceed 3 times a day. Learn more Flexeril details here. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking Flexeril, 10 mg for 3 years and decided to get off completely, cold turkey. Which was probably a mistake. After 2 days every muscle in my body is sore and aches. It feels like I have done an intense workout. My question is, will the pain eventually go away. If so, how long will it take? ## Anytime you have taken a medication for a long period of time, your body does get used to it and a sudden cessation can result in withdrawal and rebound effects, which can be even worse than what you started taking it for to begin with. Have you consulted your doctor? The rebound pain should eventually go away, but it may take a month or more, before it starts to taper off, since you were taking the medication for several years.
