First Time Taking Xanax

Hi everyone. I have GAD...car rides are a nightmare for me. We are traveling to NY and my husband is driving and I am really nervous. I have some Xanax .25 mg the doctor prescribed me last month. I took half the pill today to see how I feel before I take one for the ride and it was alright. I plan on taking .25 tomorrow night for the ride and then another one in a week for the ride home. This won't form a physical dependence will it? Like I won't have to worry about seizures or withdrawals will I?

Physical dependence no with that amount, a psychological dependence would be possible over time.

To put things in perspective, I started with 10 .25 pills prescribed to me in 1988. I take considerably more now although after a near death experience I am acutely aware of the danger this medicine can pose.

Eddy is correct, it would take considerable more taken regularly for a long period of time, to create physical dependence.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of Xanax as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and mood changes.
