Medications can affect everyone differently, so what works well for someone else may not work for you and vice-versa. They both contain the same active ingredients, so in theory they should work the same. Are there any other comments or questions? ## they work better to me than the blue ones ## I think the blue ones are very diff than the white ones. It seems as if the blue ones have more caffeine. ## I agree with you, they are not the same, if you have true headaches, true migraines, true cluste...

Will they be making Fioricet Tablets again? The capsules don't work as well on my pain. ## they haven't stopped, you can get brand name or generic ## I have gotten the brand capsules but are wondering if the Manufacturer will start making the brand tablets again? My Pharmacist says they dont make the tablets anymore. If you've gotten the brand tablets please tell me where you got them. ## @Patricia, Do you know which manufacturer it was who originally produced the tablet form of Fioricet? If you do, I would probably encourage you to contact them directly regarding specific details on the tablet's future availability. If nothing else, perhaps they will be able to recommend a different manufacturer who may already be making these again. Another thought is to have a compoun...

round, blue with CL on top, then a score mark and 041 underneath the score. The bottle says manufactured by West ward but this is not printed on the pill. I have never encountered a pill without the manufacturer logo on it. ## From what we can discover, these tablets contain Acetaminophen, Butalbital and Caffeine, it is used to treat migraine and tension headaches. Side effects can include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. This is a generic for Fioricet and the CL is their logo. ## Do you have a picture that shows this, or where did you find the information that says its fioricet? ## Dawn, there are quite a few resources that enable us to identify prescription tablets. I get severe headaches/ migraines that last for days with NO relief unless I took the blue pills fiorecet with butalbital caffeine AND codiene. After years of taking it and never getting addicted. I never even asked for an increase in strength or frequency! My stupid Dr. decides to stop it and give me massive doses of ibuprophen (advil) saying it would work the same, I reminded him that I had started seeing HIM because nothing otc worked! He said I was having rebound headaches from them. Well, I found out that for me, it was the butalbital that caused the rebound headaches not the codiene which was the only part of that pill combo besides the caffeine that helped. I now have a prescription for straight codiene (codeine sulfate) and it WORKS! I take 1 I don't get drowsy and it takes ...

Fioricet 50/325/40 TB. Can a person take 4 or 5 at once? What will happen?? ## It contains acetaphetamine which is toxic to your liver in high doses. Also caffeine which can be detrimental in high doses. 4 or 5 is a very bad idea. 2 is the maximum amount one should take for a headache.

Is there a prescription formulation of butalbital and caffeine WITHOUT the acetaminophen other than Fioinal? ## Hello, John! How are you? No, I'm sorry, but there isn't. The only ones available contain either Acetaminophen or Aspirin. If you require it without either one, if you have a compounding pharmacy nearby, your doctor may be able to prescribe it and have them create it for you. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I deal with chronic headaches as well as occasional migraines, and nothing has seemed to have an effect except vicodin. I was just prescribed fioricet and took one earlier and then another an hour or so later as the dose is 1-2 and the first wasn't effective. Three hours later my headache was just as bad and I took 2 more as I thought taking them an hour apart may have made them less effective. It's been over an hour since then and still no relief, I do maybe feel slightly dizzy and out of it but it's very slight...should I just give up on fioricet and see my doctor again? I'm in college and go to a very difficult school and I'm having a very hard time keeping up with the workload and even getting out of bed and going to class. Any comments or advice would be much app...

I am taking a 80 mg a day of hydrocodone / Acetaminophen and trying lower down to 40 mg a day to 20 mg a day then 10 mg a day, and 10 every 24 hours without having to have extreme opiate withdrawals, please tell me if I can use fioricet for opiate withdrawals. what do need to know. ## Hello, Will363! How are you? If you're doing a slow taper, your withdrawals should be minimal. How long have you been taking it? How fast of a taper are you doing? It takes at least a week, between each dosage drop, for your body to adjust. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. And no, there is really nothing in the Fioricet to help.

Now that tramadol is considered a narcotic I am trying to find something for my pain that will work similar to tramadol. Any help would b great. ## Hello, Tera! How are you? No, it is not a centrally acting analgesic like Tramadol, that's why it usually only used to treat migraines and tension headaches. Has your doctor made any suggestions? What is causing your pain and what else have you tried? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

My generic Fioricet pill has LCI on one side and 1695 on the other. It is round and blue. Is this a good generic Fioricet pill? The price has increased greatly! For many years I only received a round white pill. I want to make sure my pharmacy is giving me a good quality generic Fioricet pill. ## Hello, Fran! How are you? All generics are good quality. They all have to meet the same quality and efficacy guidelines set by the U.S. FDA. There's really nothing to worry about with any generic you receive from your pharmacy. This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, irritability and sedation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is the new formulation of fioricet now class 3. A controlled substance. ## Hello, Mary! How are you? That is what being on Schedule III means, it's been found to have potential for abuse and dependence. The Butalbital in it is a barbiturate. But you do need to understand that most prescription drugs are considered controlled substances. Is there anything else I can help with? ## It is the same except it now has 25 mg of Tylenol less. The ratio of tylenol to the barbituate changed and that is what made it now a controlled substance. It's crazy!

I have been taking Fioricet for 20 years. Worked extremely well to keep my migraines under control. The generic does not work well at all and I have many more migraines. Where can I purchase the original Fioricet. The quality of my life is not the same and I cannot take most other migraine medications. ## Hello, Janie! How are you? I'm very sorry, but at this time, it is no longer available and I don't have any information on whether or not it will be back on the market in the future. The best suggestion I can make is that you speak to your doctor about trying a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with?

Question: A friend took a generic form of Fioricet for a migraine a few days ago. Then had a massage a few days after that to try to relieve her tension that was causing the headache. Now she has bruises all over her body. Is this a possible side effect of the medication? If so, how serious is it & what does she do? ## Hello, Curious! How are you? If it was several days later, then it likely isn't related to the medication. However, she needs to consult her doctor to be sure, that's the only way she's really going to get a definitive answer. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I get bruises too.
