Expensive Xifaxan 550 Mg
UpdatedDoes anyone know where I could get prescribed samples of this medicine? My dr. had enough for me to last 4 days and I'm supposed to take 3 pills a day for 14 days. I need 30 more pills. I live in Dallas, Texas. Please help. The cost for me to get this med is 400.00 with my insurance which is out of reach for me.

Hi Bella,
You could try asking your doctor for samples. Sometimes doctors carry sample packets of the medications they most often prescribe when they're given them directly from the manufacturer's drug representative to offer to prospective patients.
Also, if your doctor prescribed a 14 day course of treatment, I don't see why they would only write you a prescription for 4 days? I think there definitely needs to be an open line of communication between you and your prescriber in order to ensure that appropriate measures are being taken for the betterment of your care. I just find it odd that the doctor would leave you hanging like that after recommending a longer duration of treatment...
Did the doctor write you a prescription and you just can't afford to fill it? If so, you may wish to consider using an Rx Savings Card to help absorb a portion of the cost.
I hope this helps!
