Seeking information about the drug indications, side effects and contraindications. ## Esomaprazole is a Proton Pump Inhibitor, it reduces the amount of acid produced by the stomach to treat conditions such as heartburn or GERD. Common side effects may include: nausea, headaches, gas and constipation. ## My dad was recently prescribed "Sompraz 40" - Esomeprazole tablets. He has a history of stomach ulcer which was cured 3yrs back. And now the irritation resurfaced which is why I believe he was prescribed this medicine. On starting with this new med, there has been some changes in his voice, swelling below the area of eyes, face and tiredness. Would you please let me know if these are the side effects of Sompraz??? Please help.
