I'm having side effects and am wondering how long they will last. I have a skin rash and it's really burning, especially my fingers and toes. ## get to emergency room immediately ## I have been on DORYX for acne treatment for about a month now. About two weeks ago I got sunburned on my feet, but it seems like only on my toes, the burn didn't go away. It's more of a rashy look. It is also on the inner sides of my hands. It tingles when the rash is in cold water and itches when the sun gets on it and gets redder. Its Blue, it Has Dan4550 to be taken twice daily & one daily & twice ## Hmmm ... did not find the exact markings which you posted. The closest thing I found was a blue capsule with Dan 5440 on it. Is it normal to take Doxycycline for a week and test positive on a drug test 2 weeks later? ## i had a gum infection and took doxycycline hyc. and had a positive opiate urine test. my doctor has told me to take this with meal once a day. But when i do take it afterwards i end up throwing up with a huge headache. Why is this happening?? ## This is a common antibiotic side effect, you should speak to your doctor. ## i take doxycycl hyc 100mg and if your pill says z 3626 on it then you have same as me and your NOT to eat b4 taking. you should have got a print out with you meds in the pharm/bag says do not eat 2 hours b4 taking and 1 hours after, take with @ least 8oz of water. all so says DO NOT LAY down with in first 30mins of taking med. take 2x daily

What is the reasoning for not being able to have any dairy products one hour before and after taking Doxyccyline? ## iS dOXYCYC THE SAME AS DOXYCYLINE ? ## Yes, the same thing, just an abbreviation. The reason for the dairy restriction is because dairy products can prevent the absorption of the medication, so you don't get the full dose you need into your body.

Can I have a couple beers if I am on doxycycline? ## I spoke with my doctor about this. He said you can drink but make sure you stay out of the sun while on this Anit-Biotic ## I find it hard to believe that any doctor would say that, it is never advisable to drink when you are taking prescription drugs of any type. It is even dangerous with OTC medications. ## You can drink on doxycycline. just follow 1 glass of water for every drink (or 2) to help clean the kidneys

I have been on this antibiotic for four days, and weht to the lake for two. I feel like I'm on fire and I'm getting a knot on my forhead,so what are the side effects of the sun and caffine. I'm a little worried. ## When reading on this RX when I first started taking it I didn't find anything that had to do with caffine but I did find something on sun. Try to keep out of the sun while using this medication. Wear concealing clothing when outdoors and use sunscreen.
