Managing Hair Loss And Regrowth

Updated

Hi,

I am using Head & Shoulders shampoo and my hair is the oily type. Can anyone please suggest an alternative shampoo to control oil in my hair? Also, which shampoo is best for controlling hair loss and hair regrowth?

Thanks in advance...

Hi Mani,

Thinning hair runs in my family on both sides, so I've been using Nioxin for the last 7 years. I still have a full head of hair at almost 30 years of age. Highly recommended! It is a little pricey, but I buy mine in bulk from eBay... that's the most affordable way to go. If you seach for it on eBay, make sure you get the kind that's right for you. I use Nioxin # 1 cleanser (shampoo) + scalp therapy (conditioner), and buy the 33.8 oz size which lasts me for several months. From what I understand Nioxin works by removing DHT buildup (a form of testosterone) from the scalp, which is believed to be a major cause of hair thinning and loss.

Hope this helps! Please post back if you have any questions or information to add...

Hi Mani,

I found the ingredients which are in Nioxin [1]. Even though it is not a completely natural formula, it is NOT like a medication such as Rogaine. So it basically aims to remove the residue from the scalp while being as natural as possible. If you are interested in the most natural possible formula then you might consider a brand called Pureology. The only thing is that I don't think it's meant to help with thinning hair. My girlfriend uses it and her hair is in great condition. Hope this helps!
