Looking to find out what a long/ oval white tabley is with a weird E type symbol and 28 and nothing on the other side. it is not scored. ## I'm sorry, but I can't find any listings for this in our U.S. prescription drug resources. Where was it found? Does anyone else recognize this tablet? ## I think that is Disulfiram (generic of Antabuse) 250 mg, manufactured and/or distributed by Rising and/or Sigma Pharmaceuticals. The weird E thingy is uppercase Greek letter sigma. In some reference sites it's indexed as "Logo 28" quoting from a product info sheet found on dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/drugInfo.cfm?id=46495 "HOW SUPPLIED: Disulfiram Tablets, USP: 250 mg - White, capsule shaped tablets debossed "Σ 28" on one side and plain on the other side. Dizone contains Disulfiram, which makes someone acutely sensitive to alcohol. In most cases, if they try to drink, they will get several drunk and ill after just one of 2 drinks containing alcohol. In many cases, the medication is continued for awhile, even after the person has stopped drinking, just to ensure that the behavior will not start up, again.

i have a 3 months course of tablets. .. .. . . 1 per day. so how long should i continue to stop the drinking. nd what are the side effects.................. plz help . . ## Dizone contains the active ingredient Disulfiram and it is used to treat chronic alcoholism by making someone super sensitive to the effects of alcohol. The most common side effects are: drowsiness, metallic taste in mouth and headache. As to how long it will take to process out of your body, there is really no definitive way to say, because this can vary from individual to individual and other factors can affect it, such as the dosage, how longer you were taking it and etc. Have you consulted your doctor? ## no havnt consulted a doc. if want to consult which specialist should i consult ???
