Clindamycin 150

I have 29 capsules to take the 3 days prior to root canal. I am allergic to penicillin and iodine and take Fluvoxamine for OCD and lose dose Xanax. I always have panic when I have to start a new med. I am a 65 year old female...is this antibiotic safe? Will it effect my blood pressure as mine AT TIMES runs low (especially at night or after meal.)

Did you say you have 29 Clindamycin caps to take 3 days before a root canal? Did you mean you have 29 caps and will FINISH them 3 days before a root canal? 29 caps of Clindamycin in 3 days is a heck of a lot of caps to swallow. ...so I'm gonna assume you meant you'll finish the script 3 days before the root canal. As you know Clindamycin is an antibiotic. Your doctor likely prescribed this particular antibiotic because you are allergic to Penicillin. Unless you have Colitis or other intestinal issues you should be fine. This antibiotic hasn't shown any history of affecting blood pressure and I could find nothing whatsoever related to adverse reactions caused by taking it with your Xanax and Fluvoxamine. Good luck!
