I have only been taking citalopram 2 weeks now. My Dr. had me on 10mg for 1 week and then upgraded me to 20mg for the 2nd week. It makes me more nervous and edgy than my anxiety and situational depression does. I stopped taking it for one day yesterday and felt so much better. Can I stop cold turkey after only 2 weeks? ## After such a short period of time, you may experience some mild effects if you stop taking it abruptly, but probably will not have any serious problems. this site is not medical professionals though, so you should consult with your doctor to be safe, there are other medications you can try. pink pill, plain on one side and the other side has RDY 343 This pill is not like the ones I have had before ## RDY 343 contains of Citalopram, a generic for Celexa, this is an antidepressant. PINK/SALMON, OVAL, SCORED TABLET WITH 9 0 OIN ONE SIDE AND A ON THE OTHER ## I believe the correct imprint on this is A 06, you may have been looking at it upside down. I have been taking 10mg citalopram for 3 days, want to stop, bad headaches feel exhausted, swelling under my tongue, can i just stop or do I need to do this gradually? ## If it's only been 3 days, you can stop, if you feel more comfortable doing it gradually break them in half and take a half for 2 more days. I have been tapering off 40 mgs of Paxil and I decided to just stop and got extremely sick. So now I'm taking 20's, then 10's... then I'll stop. 10 mg's of Citalopram for 3 days has not gotten all the way into your system. It takes 4-6 weeks for an antidepressant to start working fully and be in your system to the point where it is going to be affective. I suggest stopping or calling your doctor to stop. I just started taking the lowest dose of Amitriptyline (1x daily) to try to help me sleep. My concern is I've been taking Citalopram 20mg (1x daily) for over 5 years now. As soon as my terrible sleep pattern regulates I'll go off the Amitriptyline. Will taking both of these cause any adverse effects? ## Amitriptyline, the generic for Elavil is a tricyclic antidepressant. Citalopram, the generic for Celexa is an SSRI antidepressant.
