Cephalexin For Dogs Safe For Humans?

My dog was prescribed cephalexin 500mg after she was hit by a car as a precautionary in case any of her wounds got infected. She is all healed up and I have extra pills. My friend has a bad knee infection and is going on ragbrai this weekend. Is it safe to give this to him?
