HAVE BEEN USING ANDROGEL FOR ABOUT 5 MOUNTHS, AND HAVE NOTCIED A DISTINCT CHANGE IN HAIR ON MY HEAD. IT IS KNOW VERY DRY FRIZZY AND COURSE. IT WAS SOMEWHAT LIKE THIS IN MY 20'S AND 30'S BUT NOW AT 55 HAS REALLY TAMED DOWN, STRIATGHTER SOFTER AND MUCH MORE CONTROLABLE UNTIL I STARTED USING ANDROGEL. ALSO HAVE HAD SOME THINING AND SOME RECEEDING KNOW. SO I STOPPED USING IT A FEW DAYS AGO , TO DO SOME RESEARCH. HAVE BEEN USING 5GM. GEL PACKS. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD ANY HAIR TEXTURE CHANGES?

AndroGel contains Testosterone, which is primarily a male hormone, so it can have many different effects on your body, hormones are well known for this.

The changes in hair texture that you are experiencing are normal for hormone usage, however, it usually causes hair growth, rather than thinning.

Have you talked to your doctor about this?

I have been using androgel 1.62 for 3 months and my hair has gone from almost white to a dark gray with tones of brown that I had when I was a kid. I am 60 years old.

Im 55, very physically active, and in good condition, was prescrivbed 1..62% about 3 weeks ago. The main difference is that I am not having night sweats, but still sleeping at least 9+ hour s night, and no increase in libido. no morning wood, etc. My Dr. gave me the rx and my next follow up is in 3 months. Hmmmm, starting on a new drug, he gave me no info about any physical follow up or lab diagnostics. Should I not be at least followed up with earlier than 3 months?

You should ask your doctor if writing in all CAPS is a side effect.
