Nestle TEN vs. Nestle Plus?

I need to take one of the Nestle tube feeding formulas to for slow small intestinal transit. I took the hydrogen breath test at Cedars-Sinai and the result was high methane. (I have SIBO). The doctor there recommended Vivonex Plus, but I'm wondering if Vivonex TEN would be better. Have any of you taken these 2 formulas? How did they help you and which would be better for my condition? ## Okay, I admit I am not very familiar with these, since they aren't actually considered a prescription drug, but fall into the medical food category. Learn more medical food details here. However, what I can tell you is that with these types of medical complications, you should use what your doctor has told you to take. Aminosyn 3.5% for nutrition

Does Aminosyn 3.5% sulfite free effectively replace food nutrition? ## This is just a crystalline amino acid solution with electrolytes; nothing more. I study in the field of nutrition and don't believe any supplement can compare to whole food nutrition; especially fresh fruits and vegetables. It is important to know that ALL whole foods contain amino acids in various quantities. The problem with supplements is that these certain nutrients are extracted from their whole food form and you are left without all the other enzymes, vitamins and minerals in that food that aid in digestion and also help other bodily functions as opposed to just doing one thing. Think of it as having a really souped up BMW and none of the special features work except being able to drive it. It is also impor...

about intralipid IV

I want to know about intralipid IV. How is it helped for ill people? ## Intralipid IV 20% serves as an energy source in people for whom the usual I.V. therapy would not be adequate, and acts as a source of essential fatty acids to prevent essential fatty acid deficiency. The 20% stands for (20% I.V. Fat Emulsion). Also available are 10%, and 30% Intralipids. From my own nutritional knowledge, EFA's (essential fatty acids) are also crucial for weight loss and/or muscle management. (Up to) 40% of your daily fat intake should be from essential fatty acids. So if you are ill from EFA deficiency, then I would recommend either a natural way to combat it by consuming more foods rich in Omega-3, such as salmon or flaxseed; or buying the lowest dosage of Intralipid, because many people alrea...
