Have a white oblong pill with no imprint and am trying to see if it is Hydrocodone. It looks like it, but no imprint. ## Hello, Sam! How are you? No, all prescription medications in the U.S. are required by law to have unique imprints on them to enable their identification, in case of emergency. For example, if someone would overdose, the paramedics may come in and find them unconscious surrounded by pills and they need to be able to discover what they took, in order to provide the best treatment. Thus, if it has no markings, it is most likely just an over the counter product, of some type, though there is a small chance that it could be a foreign pill. The FDA classifies Hydrocodone as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such ...

I received what is believed to be an Amneal hydrocodone-acetaminophen 7.5mg/500mg white oblong caplet with no imprinted code on the tablet. Please advise. ## All manufactured medications in the U.S. are required to have unique imprints to enable their identification, in case of emergency, under federal law. Thus, the only exceptions would be if you received a foreign medication that is not registered here, or if it was a compounded medication specially created for you, by your doctor's orders and done by a pharmacy that compounds medications. Standardly, the FDA made all companies do away with any combination prescription medications that contain more than 325mgs of Acetaminophen per dose, so none are available in the 500mg dosage, unless they are specially made. The NIH also warns ...

I got two white oblong tablets with no markings and was told they are 5 mg Hydrocodone. ## Not in the U.S. Under current law, the FDA requires all prescription medications that are available here to have markings to enable their identification, in case of emergency. The only exception would be for substances that are done by a compounding pharmacy, where they usually use plain capsules to contain oral medications. Thus, tablets with any markings are most likely an over the counter product, of some type, though there is a small chance they could be a foreign medication. Is there anything else I can help with? ## In Texas I receive n still do, hydrocodone with no name on them. I've tried every pharmacy in my general area....no one carries Watson anymore. generic for hydrocodone 5\500 ## Sorry, that is incorrect, this is NOT a narcotic of any type, NOR is it any type of prescription medication. I found a white oval pill imprint 2127, can't find any info on the web after plenty searches and alot of resources... Please help, I am wondering if this is a pain medication? ## The pill you're describing reportedly contains 5mgs of Hydrocodone Bitartrate + 325mgs of Acetaminophen made by Actavis. The reason why there aren't many listings yet here on the internet is because it's relatively new to the market. I'm not exactly certain about its exact release date, but some of my research suggest that it's only been out since May 2016. Here is the full scoop (along with its National Drug Code of 0591-2172): dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/drugInfo.cfm?setid=6da96f18-c056-45c2-a1c8-f86484e69d08 I hope this helps!

I found a pill with the imprint L917 on it and dont know what it is. It is not scored and has no manufacturer name. What is it? ## I can't find a listing for this in any of our resources, which does make sense, because most of the tablets with an L followed by three additional numbers are over the counter items and they are not required to log their imprints with the FDA. can you tell me if this medication is hydrocodone? it is an old prescription and I want to dispose of it properly ## Proper disposal isn't dependent on the type of medication, the FDA guidelines are the same for all prescription or over the counter medications. They recommend that you mix them in with some moist, undesirable substance, such as used cat litter or coffee grounds, place the mess into a sealed container and then put it into the trash. Alternatively, you can take them to any local pharmacy and they will gladly dispose of them for you. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I found a white oval shaped pill and needing to know what it is. It's white oval shaped and has 334 on the front and blank on the back.

white oblong with imprint m357 and a line on other side ## Hydrocodone 5 mg/Acetaminophen 325 mg. ## Hello, Just wanted to add a minor correction to the dosage strength listed in post #1. A white oblong pill marked M357 actually contains 5mg of Hydrocodone + "500mg" of Acetaminophen, made by Mallinckrodt. For verification, this particular tablet also carries a National Drug Code of 00406-0357. Having said that, I'm a little doubtful about whether this pill is still being made, considering that 325mgs of Acetaminophen is the new maximum dose that's allowed in prescriptions. Hope this helps! ## David, Thanks. I apologize for my error ## No worries BL! I appreciate the helpful content you post throughout the site!

i usually take lortab 10/500 and they are pink, this time i got the same prescription, but the pills are white, scored and imprinted M363, my question: is this the same medication and will it have the same effect? i'm leary of taking something different than i'm used to taking ## Since the COLOR has nothing to do, whatsoever, with the ingredients of the pill, I have removed the erroneous post. M 363 is Acetaminophen 500mgs and Hydrocodone 10mgs. The colors mean NOTHING. They are entirely up to the whit and whim of the manufacturer. ## white oblong pill with IP 144 on it ## white round pill 5 mm diameter, with MP 63 on on side , blank on the other. nothing on back of pill just an E on other side white oblong found it in a bottle with hydrocodone but it looked different from others ## I can't be completely certain, but with just an imprint of an E it is most likely just an over the counter Excedrin tablet, which contains Acetaminophen, Aspirin and Caffeine. Learn more Acetaminophen details here. Learn more Aspirin details here. Learn more Caffeine details here. That is the way they marked the tablets of their original formulation.
