Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling, other side effects to it may include dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. is it safe to take an expired persciption of the above medicine? from 2007 ## When it comes to any medication I think it is best to not take any chances with the past expiration date (especially in the event that it is almost 5 years old). They MAY still be ok to take if they haven't been exposed to a high amount of heat or various other conditions outside of the bottle, however I am not a pharmacist or MD, so I cannot guarantee if it is in fact safe for you to consume. There is still a high likelihood that it lost a lot of its potency and may be ineffective to the point where it could harm your body by not doing it's job all the way, per say. I have a lousy cold (heavy coughing, headache,very weak,). Doctor gave me this medication. I take meds for HBP, cholestorol, thyroid. Is this ok to take for this. Im 79 ## He gave you an antibiotic to treat cold symptoms? That really makes no sense, a cold is caused by a virus and this will nothing to clear it up or treat the symptoms. using to prevent an infection, should ss, be used after the infection is gone.? ## I don't see what the point would be of using an antibiotic, after the infection has already been cleared up.
