I take Metoprol Tar Tab 25mg 2x daily. is Metoprol er 25mg okay for me to take until my doctor refills mine? ## The ER stands for extended release, which means that the medication is slowly released, rather than being released all at once, so it may not work as well for you as the one you were taking. I took Metoprolol Tart for 2 months, June - July 09 and my heart rate dropped drastically, admitted to hospital with chest pains, breathing difficulty, dizziness, disoriented, head ache, suicidal/homicidal thoughts, heart rate was 32 bpm. My pressure is usually around 110/70 if I take this what will it make my pressure drop to. I just had a coronary artery bypass graft almost a month ago. I was just prescribed this 1x/day to treat palpitations that I frequently get after a meal. Not necessarily the increased heart rate type of palps, but more so the being able to feel every beat in my chest type of palps. What concerns me is that my sleeping heart rate is normally 48-51 and my normal blood pressure often dips to 90s/50s and on the rare occasion can fall to the high 80s/40s. I was prescribed MT 25mg twice daily by the ER doctor after 3 visits of increased heart rate. Was diagnosed with sinus tarchycardia. It has helped my episodes but my bp has dropped to 94/55. So my card. Put me on met25mg once a day and I wad feelinh the lovely initial side effects that you've all described. I exolained this to him and he decided to have me stop taking it. I asked if my doseage shpuld be reduced or if I should just stop taking it. He told me that I'm on such a low dose that I shall be fine to just stop abruptly.
