Is cymbalta the same as tramadol? ## Hello, Pamela! How are you? No, they are not the same, at all. Cymbalta contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, the FDA classifies it as an SSNRI antidepressant, though it does help some people with anxiety and nerve pain. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. However, Tramadol is an analgesic. Is It a narcotic? How safe is it to take for long period?Does it interfere with any other drug taken? I take it for fibromialgia and rheumathoid arthritis. ## No, Tramadol is not classified as a narcotic, though the FDA has changed their minds on this, several times. Currently, it is classified as a centrally acting analgesic, because it does not control pain as well as a narcotic, but it can cause similar side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. It can react with some other medications, however, there are far too many for me to list. Can you post back with the name of any other drugs you are concerned about? I will gladly check the interactions for you.

All prescription medications have the potential to cause side effects in some users. So I just got tramadol and it says that it has hydrochloride in it. Is it opioid-based? I read the instructions and it said they are a narcotic. ## Hi Nancy, According to Wikipedia, hydrochloride is defined as an acid salt. This is not opioid-derived from what I can tell. In the pharmaceutical field, my understanding is that the presence of hydrochloride acts as a catalyst for better absorption / bioavailability. For this reason, hydrochloride exists in a myriad of drug formulations (including non-narcotics). However, there are reports of individuals being hypersensitive to hydrochloride and noting that they should try to avoid it whenever possible. These patients may be few and far between, but if in doubt I would encourage you to contact your pharmacy just to be on the safe side. I ho...

I just moved to San Miguel de Allende Gto Mexico... Will I still need to have a doctor prescribe Tramadol or does it not require a prescription in this Country? I had 11 knee surgeries in the last 3 years. Good news, I'm not in a wheelchair anymore!! Thanks so much. ## @Pattykakes, As far as I know from reading other's reviews, Tramadol allegedly does not require a prescription in the event that you obtain it directly in Mexico "in-person". I think the only problem lies with those who try to go on the internet and search for it that way - since they are still in the US and therefore have to abide by US laws and regulations. However, I speculate that even if it does require a prescription in Mexico, there's widespread rumor that their doctors tend to be more lenient w...

I have some pills that are little white round and don't have no imprint expose to be tramadol ## Hello, Ray! How are you? If they have no imprint, they are most likely just some type of over the counter product. All U.S. prescription tablets are required to have imprints to enable their identification, in case of emergency. The imprint enables someone to discover what medication they contain, the dosage and what pharmaceutical company manufactured them. Only over the counter products are not required to have imprints. The FDA lists Tramadol as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I'm not sure which over the counter product this is, because there are m...

is Tramadol contains any opiates ? ## Tramadol is narcotic! Some have different views on it but it is 100% narcotic with opiate traits. This medicine should be used with lots of caution, the doctors make it out like its non-addictive, but it is truly addictive as any other narcotic. But there are some good things that come from tramadol, and just as this year they are now finding it naturally produced in relatively high concentrations in the roots of the African Pin Cushion Tree. Just know it can be abuse very easy! Thanks ## Hello, Hokaz! How are you? Justin is correct, thank you Justin!
