I have a swollen jaw that the pain has moved into my neck. will the hydrocodon-acetaminophn 10-325 help relieve the pain and swelling. ## Hello, Steve! How are you? It may help with the pain, since it is classified by the FDA as a narcotic analgesic, but it will not help with the swelling, or any possible infection that has caused this issue, that will require other medications, as deemed appropriate by your doctor, or dentist. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. I strongly urge you to consult your doctor, or dentist, as infections that are spreading could become dangerous. Has there been any change?

Slipped and fell down five steps... injured neck, shoulders, back and lower back. Chiropractor (4 times so far = massage manual & electronic, light manipulation); Physical Therapy (1 time so far = vibrate massage and stretches); all preceded by MD exam (and x-rays to eliminate fractures) and prescription of Hydrocodone 5 325 (126). PT asks that I take neoproxin sodium (Aleve) regularly to build anti-inflammatory properties for next few weeks. Also suggests Flexerall at night for aiding rest. PT confident most pain, including lower left spasms (very painful, debilitating) will be alleviated and eliminated. Are we headed in right direction? ## Hello, Philip! How are you? is there a pain medication with ibuprofen that is stronger than the acetaminophen? ## Hello, Deloris! How are you? Yes, there is one called Vicoprofen that's available as the name brand and generic that contains Ibuprofen, rather than Acetaminophen. It isn't necessarily stronger, but it does work better for some people. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I was taking hydrocodon-acetaminophen 10-325's manufacturer mallinkrt which worked effectively. My doctor, against my wishes, switched me to hydrocodon-acetaminophen 5-325's. After 3 days, I experienced hypersensitivity, sleeplessness, extreme anger and became totally out of control. How do I approach my doctor, without offending him, since he is doing my knee replacement, to switch me back to the original script of 10-325's? ## The best thing you can do is to be honest with him and tell him of the problems you had. When a dosage is abruptly lowered like that, you experience both withdrawals and rebound effects and he should be aware of that. Learn more Vicodin details here. Did he give any reason why he was lowering the dosage?

i do not get relief from this pain medicine, what is the deal ## Hi baby, Unfortunately when it comes to choosing an appropriate pain medication, there's a lot of room for trial and error. If your body is accustomed to another manufacturer's versions of this, then its ineffectiveness may be attributed to the different binders/fillers that are being used in this particular tablet versus others. That's my theory anyways, given that nothing else is changed on the label when you switch between different manufacturer's brands/generics. The only thing I'd encourage patients to do in light of this, is to kindly ask the doctor to be more descriptive on the prescription he/she writes, in order to pick out a specific manufacturer that you feel works best from past personal exp...

M375 on one side oblong split on the other ## Hello, Freda! How are you? Did you mean M 357? If so, this tablet was manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen, it is a dosage that is no longer available, since the maximum dose of Acetaminophen in them now has been lowered to no more than 325mgs. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

If I took one of these, how much alcohol can I consume to still be safe ## You shouldn't consume any, while taking a prescription medication. Alcohol can intensify the side effects, so you may experience more nausea, dizziness and drowsiness than usual, as reported by the FDA. However, if your doctor does approve of you imbibing, please make sure you will not be driving, or operating dangerous machinery. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What is Hydrocodone Acetaminophen 5 / 325 TB used for? I was on the 7.5-325 T before for a hip surgery I had (for the pain). What is the difference? ## Hello, Patty! How are you? The dosage is lower, this one contains 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. If you're asking about the T and TB, there is no difference, they are both just abbreviations for tablet. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I am taking the above medication and am having a severe pain in the back of my head. Like a shock. Any ideas if this is something serious? Im also taking amoxicillian with it. It of course was prescribed. ## Have you ever taken it before? Or even just the Acetaminophen by itself? While many people take it for headaches, it does cause them in some people, rather than relieving them. However, it is odd and I'd suggest talking to your doctor about it, to be on the safe side. Learn more Lortab details here. Other side effects it can cause may include nausea, dizziness and drowsiness. The Amoxicillin is an antibiotic and may also cause side effects, such as dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more Amoxicillin details here. ## I have taken it before. My doctor changed my medication from Lortab 7.5 500 to Norco 7.5 325, but now i'm super sleepy for about 2 hours now. Any answers ? ## It might be a slight withdrawal effect, due to the lower amount of Acetaminophen, because it potentiates the Hydrocodone. It usually takes about a week or so, for your body to adjust. However, if it continues past that, or worsens, you should consult your doctor. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Its been about 1 1/2 months, but I just found out. The lower the apap the higher Hydrocodone, that's what's make me sleepy now. If you take 1 tylenol with it - it reduces the...

I am having an epidural tomorrow at 1:45 pm. Is it okay to take IC Hydrocondon 5- 525 and Extra Strength Tylenol 12 hours before the injection? ## Hello, Samantha! How are you? You shouldn't take anything, without your doctor's approval. Some medications can interfere with the procedure, or with anesthetic that may be used for the procedure. And you shouldn't ever combine Tylenol with the Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen since they both contain Acetaminophen and an overdose of it can be very dangerous. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY TROUBLE WITH PLAIN OLD LORTAB SO HOPE THIS IS NOT A GENERIC. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP. ## WATSON 3203 contains Hydrocodone 7.5 mg/Acetaminophen 325 mg. Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen are both in Lortab. Lortab is the Brand Name. ## Yes, the ones with the WATSON 3203 marking on them are a generic, just as BL has stated. I’m SUPER conserned because my pharmacy has switched from the yellow Qualitest Norco to 2 different brands I must choose from: Tris Pharma & Lupin Pharma. They are 10/325 Norco. I have Trigeminal Neuralgia, fibromyalgia, back surgeries in past and I’m told in future. I can’t stand the idea of being in pain all month. Any advise on which brand to get? I have been given the white Watson brand and the other white ones that say M367 (I think it’s a 7 at the end) they were 10/325 non the less. The Watson brand was ok but the M367 was like taking nothing sometimes. Please help me decide. Those are the only brands I can find. I am so afraid I’ll be in pain all month like I was with the M367 and Watson brands. ## The only way to really find out is by trying one...
