Not sure what the 3 mg Xanax XR look like? ## Hi Jackie, I've heard rumor of a 5mg Xanax existing somewhere throughout Europe, but that may not have been from a reputable source (i.e. counterfeit). With such a small range of dosages available here in the U.S. I do find it hard to believe that something with 3x the strength is being prescribed to anyone, even with a legitimate medical need. Xanax is purportedly a very powerful substance at dosages far less than 6mg. Just out of curiosity, where did you first here about the idea of this 6mg dosage existing? MY DR PRESCRIBED ME THE 2.5mg xanax and while in research for my college for a project on narcotics and the effect they have on the younger nation i found out that they are only 1mg is this something i should be worried about thank you in ahead of time shy guy ## Are you sure your doctor didn't prescribe you .025mg? I don't believe xanax comes in 2.5mg. I believe xanax comes in .025mg, .05mg 1mg and 2mg. Extended xanax can be 1, 2 and 3mg However I am not a doctor so this is only my opinion...What I do feel comfortable telling you is call your doctor ASAP, because if I am right, the pharmacist may have given you the wrong dose, ## I think , If you are starting out on Xanax, it should be a 0.25 Mg I thought a 2 Mg bar was the biggest they make.
