I have been taking coveram, but was then changed to amloc and perindopril, and since then I have had erectile dysfunction. What can I do because I'm thinking of stopping these blood pressure medications? ## Hi David, Another David here (Lol) - Sorry to hear about your side effects after switching medications. From what I've researched, a "loss of interest or pleasure" is listed as a less common side effect of Perindopril; which sounds exactly like what you're describing. Personally, I think you should do what feels right for yourself after weighing out the pros and cons of taking these medications (or perhaps just Perindopril in particular). There are numerous blood pressure medications and natural alternatives on the market for effectively managing hypertension. How...

Are Amlodipine Amlovasc the same as Amlodipine besylate? ## Yes, Amlovasc is just a brand name for Amlodipine, so Amlodipine is the generic and is usually cheaper to purchase. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I live in South Africa and do not know if this will be of any help. I use Amloc, 5mg. Amloc is amlodipine maleate, which does not cause any swelling. Previously I was on amlodipine besylate which caused me to swell up like I was trying to outdo an elephant. My neighbor experienced the same - besylate causes swelling, maleate does not. Both are amlodipine, only different components of it.

Can someone enlighten me, please? I take the following medicines: Eltroxin, Cardicor, Zartan, Amloc, Puresis, Allopurinol, Plenish K, Ultimag, Estro-pause, Adco-Dol (for migraines. Allergic to everything else, also those supposed to be preventative.) My concern is the Allopurinol. I have read somewhere that it may cause sudden death. Because of the Puresis I have no alternative, as nothing I do dietwise, do anything to bring down the uric acid count. Please advise me, as I am with my back to the wall. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Also information concerning the negatives of proton pump inhibitors. Thank you ever so much. ## I’m 74 years old and had gout cause by excess Utica acid for 10 years until I read on the internet the “CHERRY REPORT “. I now take...

Hi I was on Amloc 10mg daily for years and my BP was well controlled. Over the years though i started experiencing serious hair loss. I was put on Zanidip 10mg daily. After 3 weeks my doctor decided to increase the dose to 20mg daily as my BP was higher than it should be. After commencing the increased dosage i started experiencing rapid heart beat and palpitations. dizziness, breathlesness and a feeling that I had an elephant on my chest . Doctor suggested splitting the dose and taking 10mg in the morning and 10 at night. This has improved the situation but is not perfect. As both Zanidip and Amloc are Calcium Channel blockers is there reason for the new side effects since changing. ## It is always possible to experience new side effects, when you start taking a different medication, y...
