small round white pill, m on one side, 4 on the other side ## That would be Hydromorphone 5mgs. Hydromorphone ## Incidentially, regarding my recent inquiry about amount of dilaudid I am using, I have been on ppiates for over 20 years, stemming from a horrific auto accident in 1985; Talwin, ocycontin 80mg; Fentaynal; and Kadian; now dilaudid. All heavy doses so I believe I am very well tolerant to opiates ( basically an addict, I'm sorry to say!) ## I am a normal teenage mother and recently have been suspicious of my daughter using drugs. 45 Replies RSS
Hi everybody I suffer from crohns disease and my levels of pain are off the charts sometimes, it gets real unbearable, I am taking 4mg dilaudid pills 3x a day because I can only afford to see a general doctor, at the moment I have no insurance and paying for prednisone and 6-mp is beyond expensive. My doc won't give me dillys more than 3x a day because he is scared I will get addicted but I take these pills and the pain gets even worse, what am I to do, he told me I'm at a deadend in pain management with him because that's the most he can prescribe, but when I tell him it makes the pain worse he looks at me like I'm crazy but its true it makes it worse.. Has anyone else had a problem with this? What else is there that maybe I can see if he can switch it to? I just want t... ...

What does a 20 mg dilaudid look like and is it like doing 5 4mg because I have never heard of these ## Hello, Cbaby! How are you? There is no 20mg Dilaudid available in the U.S. There is a 24mg and a 32mg in the time released formulation, but the regular release tablets are only available in 2, 4 and 8mg. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have chronic pancreatitis and take it daily. Please help!!! ## Dear Jules, Sorry to hear about your trouble trying to fill that prescription. No matter your location, I would just encourage you to talk with your doctor about this problem filling medication he/she writes for. Perhaps your doctor can call-in the prescription to ensure that the script is verified and accounted for, putting the pharmacy in check-mode for getting it filled. If for some odd reason they refuse to fill such prescriptions, I think it would then be your doctor's duty/responsibility to write for something else that can be f... ...

what is the difference in yellow 4mg dilaudids i have always got and white ones that are manufactured by malli they dont work
6 Replies RSS
I have always got the yellow 4mg. dilaudids and they worked great. This month I got white ones 4mg. that are manufactured by Malli. They don't work at all. I need to take two to even get any relief and it is not much. ## @iceangel, Usually when you receive a tablet that looks different from what you're used to getting, it's often the result of differences in the list of inactive ingredients; even if the dosage remains the same. If you happen to know the imprint on both tablets I can post a list of binders/fillers used in each one for a closer look at what makes them different aside from the apparent yellow dye. From what I've been led to believe, certain types of fillers can't actually be metabolized by our bodies and because the active ingredient is mixed up within ... ...

New med to repalace my Dilaudid Rx- Nucynta ER
1 Reply RSS
I was having issue finding my Dilaudid Rx. I ran out and the pain was unbearable. (I used my Rx for Tramadol 50mg x 4-6 daily to alleviate any withdrawals. It doesn't do much for the pain.) My doc switched me to a new time released med Nucynta ER or Tapentadol. It works great. It comes in 50mg - 250mg. Equivalent for my Dilaudid 4mg x 4 was Nucynta ER 150 mg, 1 q 12 hr. but we had to work up to that dosage through titration. It says not to cut the pill and I have not tried. If you have true pain and a legal doc, try this. It is readily available at CVS, usually the 24 hour stores. I don't wake up in knots and crying in pain. I am very relieved not to have to drive to 15 different drug stores and be looked upon as a junkie/criminal to get my meds. This works for now and I'm n... ...
