is there a difference in wellbutrin and wellbutrin 150mg sr tab actavissou? i was taking the regular wellbutrin then my new prescriptson is the tab sr. a round pale yellow pill. other coment said it causes sezures? ## Brandy, the "SR" means sustained release, meaning that you take a single larger dosage less often because it is gradually released in your body. There is a minor risk of seizures as a possible side effect of this medication - the chances of it are low but do increase with a higher dose. I'd say since you are starting this new dosage that you either make sure you're around others, or at least have your doc on speed dial to report any side effects. More details about this medication are available at: Hope this helps and good luck!

I'm a 58 year old woman who had a total hysterectomy at 48 years of age, taking hormone replacement (estradiol cream) I started on Wellbutrin 150 mg., by Sandoz, (pink pill) and was on it for maybe 3 weeks. Did nothing for me. However, I seemed to be angrier and more emotional. Dr increased dosage to 200 SR which I've been taking for a week. Wellbutrin has been in my system for 1 month now and there has been some slight improvement not much. My dr mentioned she might include Effexor with it. Actually my Dr wanted me to take Effexor instead of Wellbutrin, but I preferred Wellbutrin because I was concerned about the weight gain. All I know is that I'm experiencing some of what I did not want on an antidepressant. Although I have not gained weight, I'm hungry, itchy at time...

Okay, I am hoping to get some help. I was on Pristiq 100 mg for the last three years. My insurance now is having a higher co-pay plus I have gained 25 lbs. So the PA switched my to Wellbutrin SR 150mg. It is day three and I feel awful. Very foggy and light headed. Well I found out from her nurse today, that I should not be having any caffeine when I take it. How long will this feeling last?? Anyone have words of wisdom. I am not hungry and that is the good thing. I want to try to stick it out. ## Hi Mojo, Everyone's body handles medication differently so there is no way to know when the side effects will go away for sure.If they haven't gone away in a couple weeks, you might want to speak with your doctor. Feeling light headed obviously isn't normal and may be a sign that yo...

I was receiving from Walgreens Bupropion 150mg SR which were green tablets imprinted M U12. Best medication I have ever been prescribed because it also acted as a stimulant therefore I no longer needed to sleep during the day. But after receiving the latest refiill I noticed I was again exhausted each day and needed to sleep. Later realized Walgreens gave me different tablets...a purple tablet imprinted S on one side and 525 on the other side. Walgreens said the purple tablet was exactly the same as the green tablet and it was FDA approved. What does FDA really mean? That the ingredients, the amount of each ingredient, and the quality of each ingredient is EXACTLY the same from one manufacturer to the next? Walgreens wouldn't return my money. Said the difference in refills was marke...

I WAS TAKING WELLBUTRIN SR. 150MG X 3 A DAY. THE PILLS WERE PURPLE, AND IN GENERIC, AND LOST A LOT OF WEIGHT ON IT. HOW EVER, I DIDN'T KNOW THAT THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ONE CO. TO ANOTHER, AND GOT YELLOW OR WHITE WELLBUTRIN, AND I GAINED 40 POUNDS IN 7 MONTH TIME. I THINK THE PURUPLE ONES WERE BY ZYBEN BUT I KNOW THEY WERE VERY EFFECTIVE FOR ME. DOES ANY ONE HAD THIS EXPERIANCE LIKE THAT, AND TELL ME WHAT DRUG CO. THEY USED? THANK-YOU, VERED ## Yes, there can be fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient from one company to the other and the inactive ingredients can be completely different. If you gained that much weight, then there's a good chance that you were getting more of the active ingredient than usual, because weight gain can be a normal side effect of th...

already on effexor xr wondering if anyone has combined this with wellbutrin xl, if so, any side effects? ## I take 300 mg effexor xr and 150 SR bupron....generic and less bowel movements than before, more crampy but in general it works for me....want off effexor becuz I think I have built a tolerance. maybe I've lost a few pounds....feel more even, less tired all the time! honestly I never totally know with psych meds cuz they build up slow and I'm moody anyway ...hope this helped some. ## There can be some risks to combining them, such as developing serotonin syndrome, which can be dangerous, or fatal, so you should not combine them, unless your doctor instructs you to do so, and is monitoring you regularly. That said, they are sometimes combined, when someone isn't respond...

Is the efficacy in dosing comparable or the same?? My rheumatologist titrated me off Effexor XR 150mg which I was taking to assist in controlling my Fibromyalgia pain & put me on Wellbutrin SR 150mg. I am 3 weeks taking Bupropion & I have been crying & depressed like never in my life the past 3 days & having suicidal thoughts. I just thought I was experiencing major depression due to a few recent events but THEN it just dawned on me I switched these medications recently and I feel this CHANGE is what is affecting my mental state. What do I do???? I can't take the crying & feeling this way much longer. It is Sunday & I know the first advice is going to be CALL MY DOCTOR. What is the second suggestion, increase the Bupropion? Take an Effexor XR?? I already took...

You could be suffering some withdrawal/rebound effects from stopping it, plus side effects from starting the new medication. These can last for about 4 to 6 weeks, before your body ad...

I was on paxil for about 20 years, I'm now 43...it just seemed to stop so we decided to try Wellbutrin. After the terrible paxil withdrawal finally ended I started to feel some energy and motivation but still quite anxious, very irritable and angered quickly. cry for no reason and some minor aches and pains...talked to Dr, at first they said try Ativan as a side help--didnt do much...ok then they say vistaril---thats fine if I want to sleep all day. now they are saying try propanolol (spelling)...I haven't tried it yet but this is my first full week 150mg twice a day wellbutrin and 3rd week total on the drug...I guess Im just looking for insight if this anxiety, irritability anger etc will pass...according to Dr it will but I'm losing my mind right now...it's so hard com...

I have tried at least 15 meds over many years for major depression & wellbutrin is the only one that ever worked. The immediate release and the SR versions increased my problems w/anxiety, so the Dr. put me on 2pills in am of the XL 150 mg. version, and it has helped me have a life, not commit suicide, etc. Since insurers no longer want to pay for brand-name, I also tried wellbutrin XL150 mg, 2 pills in am from all 4 of the remaining generic mfgs , over the course of at least 6 mos. Felt pretty bad but hung on as I thot there was a lite at the end of the tunnel. 3 generics hd no effect, 1 had at most a quarter of the efficacy of the brand name. I don't have the name of the better one at hand, but when I find it I could post it here...Now I have a new HMO and they won't give ...

I was taking 150 ml of Bupropion SR by Teva for several years and it has stopped working for my depression. Has anyone been happy with the other generic forms of Wellbutrin? I am now trying one from Activis but just started it yesterday. ## Your body will get used to the dosage of any medication that you take for a long period of time and it will eventually become less effective. Thus, it's really doubtful that switching manufacturers will help. It's most likely that you need a slight higher dosage to get the same benefits as you did before from this medication. Have you spoken to your doctor about it? You can read more Wellbutrin details here. ## Please let me know how the Actavis generic is working for you. I have been taking the Watson generic for 2 years and liked it. Just n...

I am currently taking two Wellbutrin XL 150 mg in the morning, around 8:00am. I take it for extreme fatigue. By 6:00pm I'm ready for bed, tired. Was wondering if I could take a Wellbutrin 150mg SR around 5:00pm would that help me get through the evening? ## It's been prescribed to you for fatigue? That's very unusual, but it has been known to actually cause insomnia in some people. Learn more Wellbutrin details here. It can be taken in doses up to 450mgs daily, but that does increase the risk of seizures, so you'd need to discuss it with your doctor to see if it's safe for you to raise your dosage.

my 18 year old son has been diagnosed with severe depression. His psychiatrist has him on 2 capsules daily of fluoxetine HCL 20 mg each along with 2 tablets daily of Budeprrion SR 150 mg each. To me, this seems like an awful lot of drugs for a young person to handle. They don't seem to be working. He's just lying around the house, not interested in joining in with family or friends and basically sleeps all day. I'm concerned that this is doing him more harm than good. Can this lead to an addiction to drugs? ## Your son is showing some of the classic symptoms of depression so it sounds like a great idea that he is taking antidepressants. He is taking 40 mg/day of Prozac and 300 mg/day of Wellbutrin. That is a pretty good combination IMO; and by no means is it a lot for severe...

Generic for Wellbutrin 150 mg SR ## Sorry, I cannot find this listed anywhere. ## What country did you get this medicine from? Does not appear to be a U.S. brand name. ## Bupropion HCL SR manufactured by WATSO is the generic for Wellbutrin SR. Bupropion HCL ER by EONLB is another substitute. I have to take generic wellbutrin (bupropion sr 150 2x daily) Now can only get from CVS or Walgreens. I am allergic to brompheniramine maleate (dimatapp) and am trying to figure out how bupropion interacts with it. I previously got pills from another phanrmacy (which I can't anymore). The pills from there were white coated. These are the green with the u12. These seem to not work like the white ones.
