Hello, I am 55 year old, postmenopausal women, taking the Megestrol (160 mg daily for 2 months already) to treat endometrial adenocarcinoma on early stage. My last ultrasound show "lack of vasculaarity in the more inferior portion - ?significance?. This finding is not seen on the previous images (in October, before Megace treatment). I couldn't get an answer why it happens and what is mean. If anybody know the answe I would really appreciate the information ## Hello, Galena! How are you? Vascularity usually denotes having visible superficial veins, thus, a lack of it means that there is a section where these veins are not visible. According to the the NIH, it may, or may not be significant. In other words, if it is due to the medication/medical treatments, it is nothing to worry...

My mother suffered two strokes and numerous TIAs. Resulting deficites were: aphasia, confusion, poor cognition, poor memory, secondary severe emotional distress, sleep problems which seemed to exacerbate stroke disabilities. Treatment with 6mg Hydergine FAS (enteric coated) resulted in remission of all her stroke symptoms. Her speech, cognition, memory emotional status were perfect, Melatonin 3 to 5mg just prior to bedtime seemed to restore good sleep and appeared to be an important part of her remarkable recovery. ## john how long did your mom take to get results like these and how long after her strokes was it before she started on the hydergine and do think the fas is superior? ## Hello John, my boyfriend suffered a severe 18+ ischemic stroke on October 19th. Terrible angina on minor exertion. Legs need cat scan for vascular blockage. Isosorbide 30mg helps angina for 12-15 hours then I might need a small nitro tablet. Also the isosorbide has made my blood pressure perfect. This after a four year battle just taking 25 mg metropolol twice a day a 50 mg of losartan once. My question, do I need to take the losartan and metropolol anymore? I also take plavix. You should know that my problems started four years ago when a drugstore BP machine indicated my BP was high. My doctor at the time prescribed hydrochlorothorazide and lisinopril. four days later I was in the emergency room with fried kidneys. In summary, the two aforementioned drugs, and amlodipine, clonidine damn near killed me. I wouldn’t give them to a dog. After two years of this,...

i AM SUFFERING A VASCULAR LEG PAIN NEAR KNEE AND DOCTOR ADVISED ME TO USE NEUROKIND LC TWICE A DAY.iS THERE ANY KIND OF SIDE EFFECT OF THIS MEDICINE.. ## Nurokind contains the active ingredient Methylcobalamin, which is a form of Vitamin B12, so it is actually a nutritional supplement. It is often recommended for people that suffer from some type of nerve pain, because a lack in this vital nutrient can cause or contribute to the problem. However, as a supplement, the side effect profiles for it have not been studied, as is done for prescription medications. Some people have reported nausea, after taking it. Are there any other questions? ## my mother aged 62 was operated for TB spine (dorsal spine). she is on nurokind LC twice daily for the past 1 month and got good relief from the neur...

My daughter is 47 and 3 years ago she had 2 strokes from complications after a major vascular surgery. The MRI done at the time also revealed she had already had 2 strokes before surgery. Her personality has changed so much from the strokes. She is very ill tempered, mean and hateful. It's affecting her entire family. She is aware of the change and will apologize, but very seldom. A clinical psychologist suggested the drug Respitrol. Maybe I got the spelling wrong, but from what I read, this is mainly for asthma. Should she see a neurologist or a mental health doctor? Thank you. Lou ## Hello, Lou! How are you? Is it possible that the doctor meant Risperdal? It is an antipsychotic that is used to treat various mental health issues. I have been on 15 mcgs patches for 5 weeks and they don't seem to work anymore. I have a vascular leg ulcer which is taking ages to heal but the breakthrough pain is horrendous. I'm getting no sleep at all. My GP took me off tramadol and codeine to try these but the pain is unbearable. I've tried cocodamol (over the counter dosage) and naproxen but it doesn't help at all. ## Unfortunately, this medication does not work for everyone to alleviate pain. The U.S. FDA does warn that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Have you ever tried any other more potent opiates, such as Oxycodone or Morphine? ## I was taken off tramadol and OxyCodone and put on these patches. They told m...

I am a 35 yr young man, working on cruise ships. I had varicose veins on both legs & had a vascular surgery done on my legs, after which I was advised to take walks by the doctor. However, when I brisk walked. I felt like on those days my pressure would rise. I get very upset & irritated about most things especially on those days. I do have high blood pressure too. When I approached my vascular surgeon, he prescribed Metolar XR-25. My questions are: Is it ok for me to be taking this medication at this age? If yes, then for how long do I need to continue this medication? What do I need to do to improve my condition without the medication? Will exercise help & what kind of exercises should I do? Kindly advise. ## Hi, Lenny! What were your blood pressure readings that resulted ...

A very large blood clot behind my left knee resulted in several blood clots in each lung. My vascular clinic rolled me directly to the ER and once stabilized I was sent to cardiology. 3 days later I proved I could give myself shots so was released and ultimately put on warfarin. Three weeks later my pancreas was shutting down and my cardiologist immediately weaned me off to start Eliquis. It has been fine as far as my tummy is concerned but like others writing their experience I have put on about 10 pounds in 2 months. I am so stiff when I get up in the morning I just want to get to my recliner and sit down. I sleep a lot and have no desire to so much as make my bed. I am definitely fighting depression. I had a CT scan of my head on 8/31/17 and the report indicates: Circle of Willis shows no aneurysm or vascular malformation. No hemodynamically significant intracranial stenosis or occlusion is seen in both anterior and posterior circulation. Atherosclerotic luminal irregularity of cavernous and supraclinoid. Segment of ICAs is noted. MCA, ACA, and PCA branches are patent. My concern is: Atherosclerotic luminal irregularity of cavernous and supraclinoid segment of ICA - What exactly does this mean? ## That means that you have some plaque build up in your arteries, but at this time, it is not dangerous, according to FDA definitions. However, it is usually a good warning sign that you should start watching your diet to lower your cholesterol and fat intake, and make sure you get regular a...
